With the wall still in the works, President Trump isn't sitting idle as 1.5 million illegal migrants prepare to storm the U.S. border this year. He's moving swiftly to get some kind of handle on the migrant surge by strengthening the U.S.'s loophole-filled system of laws that have made immigrating here illegally more attractive to would-be migrants than following U.S. law. He's pulling up the drawbridge.
OANN reports that Trump's new package of measures, which should be complete by this summer, may just be the invisible architecture to deter illegal immigration as effectively as a wall. With the migrant surge forming, it can't come soon enough. OANN reports:

A lot of people have been saying this from the start. Walls are good but if we d on’t change our welfare situation that draws people from their home country, no wall will ever be high enough to keep the illegals out.
Plus make the Democrats defend against taxpayer money supporting illegals. The legislation may not pass the House but it will make every congressman face his district voters with his “free-for-all” stance.

Suddenly, we are seeing that someone in the White House understands that extremely well — and is presenting the legal changes she mentions.
What a bunch of smug garbage. If I thought Trump was dumb enough to believe that a wall alone was THE solution, then I never would have voted for him. A wall was never THE solution, but part of one. There are probably some Executive changes that can be made here and there to make life harder for illegals, but Congress still has to change laws, and so far there appears to be no will or even inclination for them to do so.
Crush Congress, and this problem will get fixed in a hurry.
The third prong in this needs to be put some massive teeth in e-verify. The employers are breaking the law, too.

This is the real solution to illegal alien crisis. People would be shocked if they knew just how much illegal aliens were gaming the social welfare system and how much money they are sucking out of the system
Many illegals receive multiple benefits under multiple false identities and then sends a large fraction of their income home to families in foreign countries in the form of remittances
And guess what, American taxpayers are paying 100% of the prenatal care and labor and delivery hospital bills for illegal alien anchor babies. And immediately after birth, the anchor babies are enrolled into welfare as a way of life.
In California, for anchor babies, life may not begin conception but welfare entitlement and dependency sure does
The numbers are simply staggering
If we cut welfare, the illegal alien issue will start to solve itself
Have the IRS Disqualify All quarterly Payroll tax forms if there is a No Match SS # for ANY claimed employee, unless they can demonstrate they used E-Verify and have an Authorization number from E-Verify. Watch how fast they self deport.

The 14th Amend. was written to preclude aliens, including illegal ones, from obtaining US citizenship for their US born children.
