A senior Palestinian Authority official condemned the results of Israel’s general election Tuesday, calling them a ‘vote against peace’.
In a statement released Tuesday night, shortly after the polls closed in Israel, PA spokesman Saeb Erekat said the exit polls showed the vote had been in favor of the “status quo”.
"Israelis have voted to preserve the status quo. They have said no to peace and yes to the occupation.”
“They want us to live under a deeper apartheid system than that existed in the darkest hours of South African apartheid,” Erekat added.
Earlier on Tuesday, PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas said that he and the PA leadership were closely following the developments in Israel’s 21st legislative election.
"We are following everything happening in the world and specifically at our neighbors. All we hope for is that they follow the right path to reach peace, Abbas said, according to the PA’s official WAFA outlet.

Israel should have just kept everything they took after the war in 67 or 68 or whenever that was. That’s what got the Hebrews in trouble 4,000 years ago. They were supposed to go into the land and conquer it. Instead, they made treaties and such. XX amount of years later they were worshiping false gods, and then got overrun and driven to exile by the Babylonians.
It is possible to make real peace, but only if Judah and Samaria remains ‘occupied’. Jews and Arabs must remain neighbors, co-workers, employers and employees. One on one, a limited peace is possible. But the jackasses on both sides haven’t got a clue. “Two states for two nations” is so much racist blather, somehow inapplicable to Kurds or Akhwazi, but the only paradigm considered when it comes to Jews and Palestinian Arabs, who have more in common than either imagines.

On FR about ten years ago I wrote I was giving up on the dumb Israeli Jews who persisted in thinking they could talk their way into a peaceful solutions with Muslim.(so- called Palestinians)
I hope these recent developments mean these dumb Jews are starting to wise up.
Also I hope us Americans will also realize the threat of Islam and keep it subdued and at arms length, and educate people about its intentions.(subjugate, convert or kill anyone who is not a Muslim) - Tom.
