It is somewhat inaccurate to call slavery “America’s Original Sin.” The politicians seeking reparations fail to call to account the European colonial powers that instituted slavery in North America or the African and Arab slave traders. The USA did not create slavery. It was already well established when American achieved independence.
When Sharpton seeks redress from the Dutch, the English, the French, the Portugese, the Spanish, etc., let us know.
The Kenyan from Indonesia set back race relations in this country 50 years.
Love the way he put that. The left likes to condemn America for not instantly living up to its ideals. The correct perspective is to give America credit for setting forth its ambitious ideals and then working hard over time to realize them, often at great price as Horowitz points out.
It is a campaign to make Americans ashamed of their country, so that its enemies can more easily destroy it.
Wow, he's pulling no punches here. Sadly he is exactly right about the left's motivation. The left hates this country because they rightly see it as an ideological enemy. Their racial grievance mongering is a means to an end.
And yet again demon rats show their contempt for black Americans by presuming this payola pretend will keep the black vote secure in dnc clutches.

While I agree with most if not all of what Horowitz wrote the question is where do we go from here?
This issue will not go away nor will the issue of race and the divisions as a result.
Have they found a way to levy a tax on only white people?
If not, EVERYBODY in this country who isn’t black is going to be in opposition.
Apparently a lot of black Americans think they are going to be getting a personal check from this. Little do they know that the reparations cash is going to be shunted to Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the like who “know how to spend it on what is BEST for them”.
And of course reparations for blacks would just be the start. With this as precedent, every self appointed victim group would soon be clamoring for their piece of the reparation pie.

It really is a hilarious skit on how blacks will blow reparations in 72 hours and give all the money back to 22" rim makers, Nike stock soars 4000%, GM stock explodes since all Cadillacs got sold at sticker, liquor stores are emptied, etc.
I had nearly forgotten that.
What about reparations for victims of affirmative action? At least they are alive today.
Reparations have been paid and is paid for every day it’s called welfare.

Slavery was introduced into EUROPEAN colonies under the laws of Europe. The United States did not exist as the first slaves were off-loaded onto North America, in accordance with BRITISH laws. We were merely an English colony and you are the first to state the fact. I applaud you and criticize myself for not having the nerve to do it myself.
The USA did not create slavery, it painfully ENDED it!!

We have been paying reparations since 1965, when Johnson pushed his “great society” legislation through Congress, and effectively redistributed wealth from the mostly white middle class, to the mostly black, welfare class. 59 years later, after redistributing trillions of dollars in reparations, we still have a mostly black welfare class that claims they are the victims of racism.
