Mexico's top immigration official said Monday the country will not order the militarization of the border with Guatemala as caravans of residents from Central American countries make their way north.
Interior Secretary Olga Sánchez Cordero said Mexico will regulate and provide security to migrants from Central America, El Universal newspaper reported.
She added that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's government is "not repressive" and won't militarize its southern border "under any circumstances."
Sánchez Cordero's comments follow López Obrador's vow to respond with "peace and love" to U.S. threats to close the U.S.-Mexico border.

I’m under the impression that Mexico believes that the U.S. cannot afford to allow our economy to suffer from a prolonged border shutdown, so there is no reason for Mexico to change their current stance.

So Mexico is now a declared enemy state facilitating invading columns of irregular troops. What would it take to destabilize the Mexican government and show Obrador that cooperation with the US is a lot more beneficial than living among the ruins of a narco state after the US crushes the Mexican economy?

Time to ban all wire transfers of money to any countries that facilitate the movement of these invaders to our borders. We should not allow money to leave our economy to prop up their failing countries.
Declare that anyone who illegally crosses the border will get shot. No exceptions. I don't care if they're women and children.
Implement Eisenhower's Operation Wetback. Call it Operation H20 Lumbar II so the libs don't hyperventilate. All illegals in the U.S. must return to their country of origin. This includes the Dreamers. This includes the parents. This includes the students.
Transfer all illegals serving time in local or state jails to GITMO.
Immediately end all sanctuary cities, states, and taxpayer funding for illegals. Mayors and Governors who defy this should be indicted.
50% tax on all remittances.
Suspend all legal immigration immediately.
Suspend all foreign students visas immediately.
Kick Mexico's ambassador out of the country and close their Embassy.
Close the southern border down and tax funds being sent to Mexico.
Bomb the roads, make ‘em walk.
Declare the invasion an act of war and stop it with lethal force.
