Won’t save Illinois. The state is bankrupt, they haven’t got a pot to piss in, so instead of addressing the utter and unnecessary mess they’ve made, they chase off whatever remaining industry they have.

Note to Illinois corporations: If this somehow manages to pass constitutional muster, and I can’t see how, then I make myself available to be your token female board member. I’ll sign a contract stating that, for a modest fee, I will rubber stamp anything the board shoves in from of me.
For a small upcharge, I will also self-identify as an African -American, giving the board a two-fer.

Or the alternate option - imagine being a woman who worked 70 hour weeks for 20 years and is on the verge of legitimate appointment based purely on merit - only to now have it happen and be seen as tokenism.
