Leftist presidential candidates of all (correction: the same) stripes are preparing to do battle with President Trump in 2020, pushing their menu of spoiled and smelling Venezuelan-style socialist ideas for voters.
Trump will swat them away like flies, but he's not looking in their direction much. His real target, according to the Atlantic Monthly, is going to be the press. Instapundit hasfound a beauty from within the Atlantic Monthly report, noting that Republicans are raring up to go after the mainstream media, using its atrocious strings of lies and 'narratives' that fell apart after the Mueller report on the fake Russian collusion. They will do it when the press starts reporting biased dreck about Trump himself, citing their tattered credibility. Here'ssome of it:
“Any reporter who tries that will be hit with 30-second spots of all their ridiculous claims about collusion,” said the source, who, like others interviewed for this story, requested anonymity to describe private conversations. “Their tweets have all been screencapped. It’s all ready to go.” (“It’s the same thing we’ve been doing the last two years. We’re going to hold the media accountable when we see fit,” an RNC official clarified, adding that this would include digital clips shared on social media.)
Which is kind of what a biased media deserves.
The fact is, the press did disgrace itself in its two or three years of news coverage, constantly beating the phony tin drum that Trump colluded with the Russian to steal the election from Hillary Clinton. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, armed with more than a dozen leftist, Hillary Clinton-donating lawyers, could find nothing to support that, and finally threw in the towel this past week, releasing the report over the weekend in a futile bid to hope no one would notice.

The DNC had best rethink their logic in not allowing FNC to hold their debates.
If not, they stand to risk their networks in not having the power to come through for them in the number of viewers they want to reach. They killed the Golden Goose. Easy come, easy go.

They control the narrative and social media.
They shape public opinion.
In the short term they'll suffer a black eye but they'll recover and continue as they always have.
Look how quickly they recovered from the Covington boys narrative and moved right into the Jussie Smollett narrative.
They just lost the 'Russian Collusion' narrative.
Three major stories they got wrong and yet they survive.
They cannot be stopped by embarrassment and shame.
They will simply move on their next 'narrative'

I believe the more important thing is now some of the GOP are fighting back with President Trump.
More and more of the public are seeing the lies they not only put out but the cover-up afterward.
The Covington boys, the Smollett fiasco and now the Mueller report have shown the lies and treachery of Rats, DNC and fake media reporting.
Let ‘em keep pivoting to new lies and let them be shown for the liars they are.
It’s hurting them.
It just doesn't click in the minds of the larger general public.
It's not that the public is stupid but most people get their news on the fly and in sound bites. The media never admits they're wrong; they just move on to the next 'narrative'. A correction is found days later on page 5, section c.
Trump keeps saying, 'Fake News'. You and I get it. He's calling out the MSM.
But the MSM still controls the major outlets for news which is why Google, Facebook, Youtube, et.al. keep trying to shut down alternative sources.
It's not impossible to expose them but they're sly and sneaky in parsing their reports so unless someone uncovers an indisputable connection between the MSM and the intelligence community and subversive liberal groups the general public will never see how they create fake news.
And they're the reporters. They're the 'newspapers of record'. They aren't going to do exposes on themselves.

The problem as I see it is that there is no way to put out that much truth to match the propaganda power of “the media.” As you say, they are slippery critters.IMHO there is nothing for it but to sue them for libel, New York Times v. Sullivan notwithstanding. Make the case that
- ”the media” is (not are) a monopoly. This is pretty obvious when you figure how many of them are members of the Associated Press. The direct result of this collusion is that journalists go along and get along with each other, and this negates any tendency towards ideological competition among them.
- ”the media” and the Democrat Party are joined at the hip. This is the natural result of the fact that journalism makes its money from bad news which casts American society in a bad light - and which raises the question as to how the government might fix it. It creates a situation in which prohibiting politicians (actually, Republican politicians) from suing for libel, de facto, entitles the Democrat Party to its own facts.
- If Campaign Finance Reform is constitutional, the fact that the MSM is joined at the hip to the Democrat Party is a gigantic violation of it.

The media did not disgrace itself. Disgrace would be making a lewd comment to a teen age girl. The MSM held that girl down for someone else to rape her then claimed they knew nothing about it after the fact. We generally recognize that that is something far worse.
Major leaders in the Democratic machine are related (husband/wife, brothers, others connected) to the leadership in the MSM and information is known to be freely shared throughout that community. The MSM actually is the propaganda branch the democrat party, its not just a meme.
There is no way the media didn't know that it was participating in covering up the Russian collusion because there WAS Russian collusion on the part of the Democrats on behalf of HRC. The bits of coverage that did exist on Uranium One were knowingly spun as nothing to see. There were other crimes that the media knowingly and willfully participated in and it continues to this day. For example, they know full well the reality of Smollet acting the role Horizontal wrote for him and they know about they Obamas efforts to cover it up and just as they were ordered are knowingly participating in the obstruction of justice swirling around that entire matter.
The media needs to be recognized as the co-conspirators that they are. They need to be punished in a very public an embarrassing way. Their Mockingbird monopolies need to be broken but that cant happen yet.
None of that can happen until the beacon is repaired and those responsible for shattering it into a 1000 points are brought to justice.
Full DECLAS of the Mueller report is the next milestone in that direction and the best part is that its the Democrats demanding that he do it.
