“I got a BS in Geophysics in 1977, never got to use it as such but I do remember a few things!”

This may be the time for good people like you to stand up to the Green Thugs in congress, our state governments and local Green Thugs.

Thanks for your comments.

Dave

only the USA that would be backwater fourth world podunk like this.

Some simple data from Wikipedia to help shed some more light on exactly what is going on, globally...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissions

Location/Nation - - 2017 Gt CO2 - - % increase since 1990
World 37.1 +63%
China 10.9 +354%
U.S.A. 5.1 +0.4%
All E.U. 3.5 -19.5%
India 2.5 +305%
Russia 1.8 -25.8%
Japan 1.3 +15%
Germany 0.8 -21.8%

And by the Paris Accord that the Left adored so much, while the Western world had to cut all of their CO2 out put by about 20%, China was allowed to INCREASE it by 30% between now and 2030. Now, I don't want to strain any Liberal brains here, but 30% of 10.9 is about 3.3... which is just about equal to the output all all of the EU combined!!! China gets to ADD that, while everyone else cuts back... while China continues to be one of the world's worst polluters, by far, in CO2, ocean plastics, smog, etc etc etc. China already spews out about as much as the US, the entire EU, and India combined, but they are allowed to accelerate while the world cuts back for them.

Some more notables from that Wikipedia page:
Iran +224%, Saudi Arabia +284%, Indonesia +215%, Taiwan +125%, Vietnam +983%, Thailand +200%, Maylasia +337%, UAE +256%

And:
UK -35%, Ukraine -74%, Poland -14%, Czech -32%, Belgium -10%

Anyone noticing any trends here?

(My first table in a while, had to hit the HTML sandbox again lol, hope it posts well)

Electric trains using solar and wind juice, and sailboats.
Will be a slower way of life for sure.

Like it in the same way that some people like Plan 9 From Outer Space, or Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

I don't believe there is, actually... despite (actually because of) their declaration that the "science is settled". CO2 levels have been over 7000ppm and under 200pm in earth's history, and it's still spinning and spewing zillions of new plant and animal and bacterial species every eon and epoch. I tend to agree more with the published hypothesis that the Ideal Gas Law (PV=nRT) has more to do with global temps than anything else (other than that big weird yellow ball)... and I don't think mankind has done much to change the air pressures globally.
