At the least, it is a conflict of interest. And at most, in the US, invasion of privacy. You can’t start collecting evidence without a reason just to collect evidence.
The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act requires each financial institution to tell its customers about the kinds of information it collects and the types of businesses that may be provided that information. This disclosure, called the privacy notice, is intended to help you decide whether you are comfortable with that information-sharing arrangement. The law went into effect July 1, 2001.
Additionally, the law says that if your financial institution intends to share your information with anyone outside its corporate family, it also must give you the chance to “opt out” or say “no” to information sharing under certain circumstances. Even consumers who are not technically customers of a financial institution-such as former customers or people who unsuccessfully applied for a loan or credit card-will have the right to opt out of information sharing with outside companies. So you can b e assured a business man like Trump, would have disallowed any information to be passed to anyone other than approved sources.
So the libs went overseas to get information from banks that didn’t fall under US statute. Seems kind of obvious they are on a fishing trip and would have been in deep trouble if they did this in the US and the media published it.

I had the recent History Channel Trump Documentary on my DVR and decided to watch Part 3 last night.
Part 3 was the worst anti Trump episode of the Series IMHO. The Deutsche Bank connection to Trump was a prominent issue with them being framed as a Money Laundering outfit for the Russians.
Businessman Trump borrowed money from them when the American Banks wouldn’t and they worked with his Company to renegotiate a loan when he missed a payment.
Even though they had Interviews from Hannity and Stone, David Korn and some other Rat really took the cake in spinning a web of Russian conspiract surrounding Trump.
