Pope Francis traveled to Rome’s city hall Tuesday, encouraging the mayor and her staff to be welcoming toward migrants and anyone who wants to make his home in the capital.
“Rome, over its nearly 2,800 years of history, has been able to welcome and integrate different populations and people from all over the world, belonging to the most varied social and economic categories,” the pope told Mayor Virginia Raggi in his prepared address, “without canceling their legitimate differences, without humiliating or crushing their respective peculiar characteristics and identity.”
“This city has welcomed students and pilgrims, tourists, refugees and migrants from every region of Italy and from many countries of the world,” he said...

This Pope is a real beauty. With Catholics like him the rest of us Catholics don’t need enemies.
Maybe Obama would have made a better Pope.

I vaguely recall that Rome’s idea of welcoming people from other places, backgrounds and ethnicities back in the day... involved chains.
And some really impressive ruins.
I recently did a little calculation. Based on the size of Vatican City and the population density of your average big city, the Vatican can accept at least 3000 new immigrants.
So here’s my question. Will the Pope practice what he preaches and allow 3000 new immigrants to move into Vatican City?
P.S. to Frankie. There is plenty of space in the Vatican Gardens for a couple of high-rise apartments. So you’ve got the room.

As a side note, I wonder how long it will be before Francis announces that Shariah Law is fully compatible with the Bible.
