Skip to comments.Research: Google Search Bias Flipped Seats for Democrats in Midterms

New research from psychologist and search engine expert Dr. Robert Epstein shows that biased Google searches had a measurable impact on the 2018 midterm elections, pushing tens of thousands of votes towards the Democrat candidates in three key congressional races, and potentially millions more in races across the country.
The study, from Epstein and a team at the American Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology (AIBRT), analyzed Google searches related to three highly competitive congressional races in Southern California. In all three races, the Democrat won and Epsteins research suggests that Google search bias may have tipped them over the edge.
Epstein says that in the days leading up to the 2018 midterms, he was able to preserve more than 47,000 election-related searches on Google, Bing, and Yahoo, along with the nearly 400,000 web pages to which the search results linked.
Analysis of this data showed a clear pro-Democrat bias in election-related Google search results as compared to competing search engines. Users performing Google searches related to the three congressional races the study focused on were significantly more likely to see pro-Democrat stories and links at the top of their results.
As Epsteins previous studies have shown, this can have a huge impact on the decisions of undecided voters, who often assume that their search results are unbiased. Epstein has called this the Search Engine Manipulation Effect (SEME).
According to Epsteins study, at least 35,455 undecided voters in the three districts may have been persuaded to vote for a Democrat candidate because of slanted Google search results. Considering that each vote gained by a Democrat is potentially a vote lost by a Republican, this means more than 70,910 votes may have been lost by Republicans in the three districts due to Google bias.

Watch the documentary “The Creepy Line”. It shows in detail exactly how google did this and the effect they had.
I heard him on the radio earlier. I recommend watching The Creepy Line documentary. It’s free on Amazon. It’s about how we are being manipulated.
First, cheating was FAR FAR more of a problem.
Second, if you’re going to GOOGLE to search for and make your decision on political information and politicians running for office...well..you were likely voting for a dem anyway.
Then we got shellacked in the midterms and lost the House.
There is no more hope of correcting Google, Facebook Or Twitter now than there is hope of repealing Obama care. The Republicans blew a once in a generation opportunity to save the Republic but they would not even save themselves if that meant saving the country too.
We are beginning to understand what decent Germans went through when their country slid into the Socialist hell hole.
Hold on to your hats folks, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride!
And in 2020, the only races that we will win is what the Democrats want us to. In 2018 the Democrats perfected their vote stealing process.
Also there were a lot of Republicans suffering from post-traumatic press syndrome who retired. In spite of all the cheating and the tech companies and the media conspiracy to run PUBBIES out on a rail they probably would have held the house had there not been so many cowards.
Mr President: Why have these robber barons not been held accountable and their monopolies broken up?
When does this become a campaign contribution?
will we have meuller doing a 4 year investigation into google unfairly manipulating the elections?
Sounds like collusion to me.
An illegal PAC contribution exceeding $2,500? Far exceeding the legal limit for campaign contributions? Same for Yahoo and others.
Google, FaceBook and Twitter don't matter because most Freepers don't use them, read that right here.
As I recall Sara Palin tried to point out the fallacy of ignoring social media but we don't use them so they don't matter.
If we only had some kind of Department that would, I don’t know, Enforce Laws or something.
Yes, that would be, like, crazy. This seems like the biggest RICO case ever (with the media, that is).
In kind corporate contribution.
USA _corportations_ freely manipulating our elections and our reality, daily.
Evil to claim Russia could have _any_ actual influence, even if they tried.
USA is gone insane.
