Letter from deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein offers potential road map to special(trunc)
ABC News ^ | March 21st, 2019 | By Jonathan Karl

There's no shortage of speculation on the special counsel Robert Mueller’s report, much of it totally uninformed.

But we don't need to speculate on the scope – the man who appointed Mueller has already given us a potential road map on what to expect from the special counsel.

The bottom line: Do not expect a harsh condemnation of President Donald Trump or any of his associates if they have not been charged with crimes.

The road map comes in the form a little-noticed 12-page letter written by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last June to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley.

The letter was in response to Grassley's demands for more information on the special counsel investigation, offers a brief history of special counsel investigations and actually quotes former and future Attorney General William Barr who appointed three special counsels during his time as attorney general under President George H.W. Bush.

In the letter, Rosenstein makes it clear he believes the Department of Justice will not – and cannot without violating long-standing Department of Justice policy – include disparaging or incriminating information about anybody who has not been charged with a crime.

The Democrat base will be apoplectic.

They will exact their revenge from Democrat politicians, and force a failing Impeachment vote.

The Democrat base will be apoplectic.

I don't think so.The spin will be that that fat pig from New York, and Schitt, and Mad Maxine and Cyrus Vance Jr already have the goods on the President and are just tying up the loose ends at the moment.

The fraudulent report will be nothing but a blueprint for an approach to impeachment proceedings. The Deep State is too invested in the treason of this scam to let go now.

Probably why POTUS Trump can say, ‘ yeah sure, release the whole thing’ and one-up the neo-marxist party.
Rosenstein will be the guy saying, ‘ no we cannot release the whole thing because land standing DoJ policy.

If the above is not the most blatant COVER YOUR AZZ plea I have ever seen.
There was nothing found to charge President Trump, BUT, I think he is referring to all members of the “coup club.”
He doesn’t want the merry band of corrupt employees at DOJ and FBI to be charged.

Don’t be hard on them, BECAUSE THE SAINTLY DOJ AND FBI do not deserve to be charged...IT JUST ISN’T DONE AS A MATTER OF POLICY.

Perhaps General Barr will show some backbone.

Awaiting Mueller report.

He’s effectively neutered, relieved of any responsibilities of importance, kept on ice until Meuller has had his moment in infamy.

Speaking of FISA. I’ve always thought that the FISA judge or judges had to be in on this deep state hit on Trump. You couldn’t be that stupid or naive to not see that the evidence was unverified. It would be a logical conclusion for the judge to be part of the conspiracy.

"Sources familiar with the investigation believe there are no more indictments coming from the special counsel."

It's not the letter that is the basis of this article. It is unnamed sources again. Therefore I would not believe it as this is so typical of the mainstream press.

“....and cannot without violating long-standing Department of Justice policy......”

Well, gee whiz! I am sure they will not violate any policy. It holds much more importance than law. Or morals.

What about when a DOJ official cites a laundry list of crimes, but then determines that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case? /s
