PA Democrats: Our Bill Would Create A Gun Registry In The State

We all saw the rumblings of this for years. Democrats want to destroy the Second Amendment, create gun registries, and eventually confiscate firearms. It won’t happen in a couple of years, of course. This is the long game. Emboldened by their state-level victories in Vermont and Florida, in which the anti-gun Left was able to increase the age to purchase all firearms to 21. In Vermont, they even got Republican (and at the time pro-NRA) Gov. Phil Scott to sign off on magazine limits. As you all know, 18 years of age was the minimum for a long gun. In these states, it’s no longer the case. It’s grossly unconstitutional and yes, the National Rifle Association is involved in legal action in Florida to get it tossed. That could take years, however.

Just so they know where the firearms are. It won't be used to confiscate them or anything. No, really. Just another crack in the Liberty Bell.

Good luck with this one...

Should have tried this in a deep blue state...

PA voters won’t swallow this one at all, in fact this will likely cause turnout at the polls to gain another few hundred thousand statewide to vote against the party who pushes it.....

Philadelphia idiots thing PA is NY... its not.... YOu can be as blue as you want in NYC’s suburb of Philly... but the rest of the state will squash this like a bug.

They have their site on PA gun owners. For now, it’s a very gun friendly state but these people will not stop and with the influx from NY and NJ as they make the exodus, it ain’t helping. Firearms lawyers and groups are mobilizing in PA, but we need your help. Also, May 6th is a pro gun rally in Harrisburg to all that can make it please!!!

***to sign off on magazine limits.***

Rest assured that in a bad situation, you will always need ONE MORE ROUND than you have.

Anyone ever look at the old illustrations of the 1850s Old West, and everyone carrying two or three revolvers?

As I mentioned on another thread about this story, I am curious to know what law enforcement thinks of something like this? How much in terms of tax dollars and man hours is this going to cost? And are those scarce tax dollars and man hours likely more better spent fighting the real criminals instead of ones created by a piece of legislation?

This is the experience New Zealand had and the main reason why in 1983 they abolished their registry for standard hunting rifles and shotguns because law enforcement there determined that such a registry and maintenance of it was valueless as a crime fighting tool. Backlogs and errors on a large scale were also encountered by law enforcement in the Australian states of Victoria and South Australia at about the same time concerning their firearms registries.

It only works if all owners participate. Guns? Don’t know what you mean?

It has been proven over and over again. In Europe, in Australia, and soon in New Zealand:

Gun Registration is the first step in gun confiscation.

LOL! I said used to. Like 60-61 since my dad was at the Naval supply depot. But my mom was raised outside of Altoona. Not sure if I have any relatives still alive in PA.

We’re second only to Texas in the number of firearms owners. We have an attitude not all that different either.

That’s right! A cowboy toting two sixguns didn’t fire both at once; he fired one til empty and holstered it. He then drew his other weapon and “border switched” to his gun hand. Never caught with an empty gun.

Anyway, annual registration at $10 per firearm? Annual renewal of one’s gun license? Not only is that pure harassment of people you don’t like (gun owners), it’s class warfare against an entire group that will never vote your way so why not stick it to them?

The detestable James Carvile once described Pennsylvania as Alabama sandwiched between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. He didn’t mean it as a compliment.

This bill will be DOA.

The Demoncrats are doing a great job brain washing children into demanding gun control and combating climate change. God help the Republic. Oh wait, after legalizing infanticide why would He do that.
