“Hi everyone, I just want to take a few moments to say thanks to the – believe it or not – hundreds of thousands of people who have sent in tweets, texts, emails, cards and letters wishing me well following my recent health announcement. I’ve heard from former contestants – even Watson, the IBM computer, sent me a get-well card.

Now obviously, I won’t be able to respond to all of you individually, but I do want you to know that I do read everything I receive. And I am thankful for the kind words, the prayers and the advice you have offered, and I’m extremely touched by the warmth you have expressed in your comments to me. I’m a lucky guy.”

Oh YUCK...I bet they put green & red things ( peppers) in the meatloaf too and top it with ketchup!

Yes, you DID say it was used in cosmetics, which is what threw me off. Rice powder makes the face powdered face look luminous, as does its use in foundation.

LOL...obviously, I know some weird stuff and I have no idea where I read about rice powder. Perhaps it was in a book I have about Japan, or one about Geishas.

Yes, green peppers, although I’m sure other colors would suffice.

And, yes, a glaze of ketchup, mustard and brown sugar....classic.

You pushed me into finding where oats are used in cosmetics. Here you go:

https://oatcosmetics.com

Let me know how they work for you.

WOW...how weird; I didn't know about oats in some new kind of SJW cosmetics. And now I do know; thanks to you. But rice powder has been used in some cosmetics, in Japan and in other parts of the world, for centuries in Japan and a century in Europe and America.

I and many people I know, do NOT like meatloaf made that way; though I do know that others do. But...with oats too?

OTOH, ready made and home made breadcrumbs, with or without Italian herbs and can be used in meatloaf and meatballs, and rice is used in making some meatballs as well as in stuffed peppers and stuffed cabbage; hence my confusion.

Really?

Truth to tell, this is the first time I have EVER heard of putting oatmeal in meatloaf.I wouldn't like it; truth to tell.

My mother was a Canadian, maybe that’s where she got it.

Perhaps that's why.

I don't claim to know everyone in America, but I've NEVER met/heard of ANYONE who put oatmeal in their meatloaf, nor had any made that way.

OTOH...my mother's recipe is somewhat different from other people's. I don't know where she got the recipe from, but it's what I'm used to and everyone who has ever had mine/used my recipe loves it.
