Thank You From Alex Trebek | JEOPARDY!
Jeopardy! Youtube page ^ | March 14, 2019 | Alex Trebek

“Hi everyone, I just want to take a few moments to say thanks to the – believe it or not – hundreds of thousands of people who have sent in tweets, texts, emails, cards and letters wishing me well following my recent health announcement. I’ve heard from former contestants – even Watson, the IBM computer, sent me a get-well card.

Now obviously, I won’t be able to respond to all of you individually, but I do want you to know that I do read everything I receive. And I am thankful for the kind words, the prayers and the advice you have offered, and I’m extremely touched by the warmth you have expressed in your comments to me. I’m a lucky guy.”

This grain, a favorite of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is considered by some to be a natural beauty product, by others a useful addition to formed meat dishes, and by animals which often say “neigh” to it.

What is the OAT? Or should that be “What are oats?”

Ambiguity in the question is somewhat frowned upon in that game, you know!

Merv Griffin, stone genius, invented Jeopardy!

Even wrote the song they play during Final Jeopardy: The name of the song is:

Think

I saw Alex’s little speech on yesterday’s episode. Very classy. I can’t imagine the show without him. Alex is one of my all-time favorite hosts. He even hosted the TCM tribute to Robert Osborne before Robert’s passing. I always have the impression that Alex really does know all the correct questions/answers on Jeopardy!

The man is a class act.

Yes, one who stands out because that is unfortunately rare these days.

I have a friend whose daughter was a contestant on Jeopardy.
She always speaks well of Mr. Trebek.

Hey...isn't the $200 query supposed to be easier than the $300 one?

I'd say WHAT ARE OATS?; however, oats as a beauty product and as a binder in formed meat dishes ?

WHAT IS RICE? fits better.

Okay, the clues are confusing.

I thought it was easier. it’s used as a binder in meatloaf. Now that I think of it you didn’t have it in the meat loaf recipe you sent me. It has benefits for healthy skin.

And, as far as I know, horses don’t eat rice.

I use Italian flavored breadcrumbs in my meatloaf. Some people use bits of Italian bread or even white bread. I've NEVER heard of nor seen a recipe for that using oats. OTOH...some meatball recipes have rice in them.

Oatmeal is used in scrubs, NOT in cosmetics; however, rice flour IS used in some face powders and foundations.

And re horses, rice is no good for horses, but the stalks ( green parts) can be mixed in with hay.

Now you see why I found this a bit confusing. :-)

I see...

Paula Dean uses oatmeal in one of her meatloaf recipes and so does America’s Test Kitchen.

I don’t think I said that oatmeal is used in cosmetics. Rice flour is best used in a tempura.
