The U.S. Senate voted by a 54-45 margin on Tuesday to confirm Paul Matey to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. With Mateys confirmation, the Third Circuit shifts to a 7-6 majority of Republican appointees, making it the first court of appeals in the nation to see its composition switch under Trump, who has been clear on his goal to remake the federal judiciary with conservative judges. Trump previously appointed Stephanos Bibas and David Porter to the 14-member court of appeals.
On Monday, after a vote to close debate on the Matey nomination was split on party lines, Sen. Robert Menendez, D-New Jersey, sharply criticized Republicans for advancing Mateys nomination without the consent of the two home-state senators.
Um, yeah, just so you know, that two home-state senator thing isn't in the Constitution, you corrupt scumbag.
Pound sand pedo.......................
Ninth Circus got tied 9-9 a couple of weeks ago - with several vacancies remaining.
Just the fact that party affiliation is important when it comes to these black robed tyrants is all the proof I need to know that allowing these old windbags to interpret our Constitution and laws is a big mistake. These windbags have political agendas just like the rest of us. If the left wants to close something down, I’d like to suggest the Federal judicial system. The greatest threat to America’s freedom and liberty.
Shouldn’t Menendez be having sex with a 12 year old right now
Uh, Republicans appointed Earl Warren, William Brennan, Harry Blackmun, John Paul Stevens, Sandra Day OConnor, Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, John Roberts. Spit.
I will be very happy when we can all study the history of how Democrats became so anti-American that they lost everything - ceasing to exist as a political party.
So there still another vacancy? Come on Trump/Turtle getter done.
THIS is why I voted for Trump!
I love it when a plan comes together. When more conservative decisions are delivered by the Appeals Courts, the Supreme Court can let those decisions stand, avoiding the chance of Roberts getting wobbly in the knees.
Dont think so, 9th circus has more than 18 judges and is so heavily liberal it would take a generation to fix
POTUS is making the Republican Senate grow a spine.
“So there still another vacancy?”
Yep, one more confirmation pending will make it 8-6. We need all the help we can get with our gun grabbing governer running wild in NJ.
looks like there is 42 of them..
some have been hanging around since nixon.
Well in fairness the dems appointed a few judges who surprised everyone by not being reliably far leftists. For example .... uh .... umm ... huh. Can't think of one. But I'm sure it happened, right?
My bad, there is 29 active ones. 5 vacancies.
Felix Frankfurter (FDR) and Byron White (JFK) are considered the two on the lib side of the scales who turned conservative.
I think FDR wanted to pack the court with additional Justices as a result. Libs (Eric Holder) are once again saying they will add to the Supremes if they win in the future.
But the Wall! The Wall! Donald Trump isn’t making it magically happen! Wah, we wanna see hopscotch, not a prolonged game of chess!
