Thanks.

I wish only the best for SWA. Unionists can go suck an egg.

Here is the Lawsuit SWA filed against the Mechanics and details the actions the Mechanics took to ground planes just to hurt the airline during negotiations.

This has more to do with SW’s long running mechanics/labor issues than the mechanic’s concern for safety

Does SW do most of their maintenance in RTW states?

It’s the Unions. Long history of damaging property of employers.

Southwest’s unions are playing games on this one by grounding perfectly airworthy aircraft.

If this really was about unsafe airplanes, then obviously the blame lies with the people responsible for the maintenance. If they suddenly found all these aircraft with issues, why didn’t they find and fix these issues last week? Last month?

And this is my expert opinion. It was right there on the interwebs.

Southwest has undergone management and leadership changes...and its declining record in safety shows with its uptick in emergency landings and other problems. It used to have the highest ratings...

This is an old article and has nothing to do with the latest 737 Max issue.

How has air travel gone downhill?
..................................
As a frequent flyer I’ll tell you how. First, the flight attendants are more surly and sloppy at their job then they used to be. Second, the planes are much dirtier than they used to be. And finally, gender, race, and nationality hiring quotas for the flight crews are increasing the risk of catastrophic accidents. If you doubt what I’m saying, google it.

Southwest was left out of any flights or connections because they were non-union.

Not true. That wasn't why Braniff and American conspired against them. Or why Southwest wouldn't do interchages with the others.

Southwest started flying in 1971. Flight attendants were the second group to unionize (1975). For many years, Southwest was more heavily unionized with Delta. Delta didn't have any problems playing with the heavily unionized carriers.

One should also remember that in the mid-70s, airlines had their own, separate reservation systems which they didn't even make available to travel agents. Sabre (American), Datas (Delta), and Apollo (United) were the main players TWA had the lesser known PARS). United first made their system available to travel agents in 1976.

Look at deaths per miles flown and change your tune.

Four decades ago a domestic flight less than half way across the US was almost $1000 in 1980 dollars.
