The 268-page Bruce Ohr interview transcript provides some clarity, some comfort, but also more concerns over the handling of the Russia investigation.
On Friday, Georgia Rep. Doug Collins, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, released the transcript of the House’s August 2018 interview of Department of Justice lawyer Bruce Ohr.
Ohr’s name is familiar to those following the Spygate scandal: His wife, Nellie Ohr, worked for opposition research and dissemination firm Fusion GPS. The couple also met with former British spy Christopher Steele the day before the FBI launched the Crossfire Hurricane investigation into the Donald Trump presidential campaign. After the FBI fired Steele and instructed him to no longer “operate to obtain any intelligence whatsoever on behalf of the FBI,” Ohr served as a conduit to keep passing Steele’s “intel” to the FBI.
The 268-page Ohr transcript provides some clarity, some comfort, but also more concerns over the handling of the Russia investigation. Here’s what we have learned from Ohr’s testimony.
1. Steele and Simpson Didn’t Conspire with Ohr, They Played Him On their face, the simple facts put Ohr dead center in the deep state’s efforts to undo Trump’s election. But the transcript tells a different story. Rather than Ohr teaming with Steele and Simpson and the disgraced or fired FBI crew of Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, and Lisa Page, Ohr’s testimony convincingly casts him as the stooge.
As Ohr testified, he knew Steele professionally from Steele’s time as an MI6 agent, having first met the former spy in 2007 at a meeting in London on Russian organized crime. Ohr was also acquainted with Fusion GPS’s Glenn Simpson and others who “from time to time” would give him “information about Russian oligarchs and other Russian organized crime figures, and then [Ohr] would pass ..

"...Ohr also knew Fusion GPS was paying his wife, Nellie, to conduct related research. Yet Ohr fed Steele and Simpson’s “intel” to the FBI, including a thumb drive of information provided by Simpson. He also gave the FBI a thumb drive of his wife’s research.
(My note: What was this "research" from Ohr's wife Nellie on the thumb drive? Was it "research done between November 2015 and April 2016 when Admiral Michael Rogers shut down "contractor" access to the NSA databases because he found out that Contractors like Nellie Ohr (Russian Language Expert used as a contractor to get SPECIFIC info from the NSA Database) were going far beyond the specified boundaries of their "contract" work...over 85% of the time! Accessing information they neither had permission to do so or reason to do so. Hmmm? Was Nellie Ohr ONE of those "contractors" with access overstepping her bounds? Was any of THAT information she gleaned on that thumb drive? Hmmm?)
Even if Ohr had previously shared intel from Steele or others with the FBI, under these extraordinary circumstances, he should have spoken up and stepped aside. Ohr definitely should not have continued to serve as a conduit to the FBI after the FBI terminated Steele on November 1, 2016, and directed Steele not “to obtain any intelligence whatsoever on behalf of the FBI.” Yet from early November 2016 until November 2017, Ohr received and passed on more than a dozen communiques from Steele.
Ohr, however, failed to inform his superiors that he was receiving information from Steele. In fact, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein did not know until October 2017 that Ohr’s wife Nellie worked for Fusion GPS. Two months later, Ohr lost his title as associate deputy attorney because “he had not given them timely notice of [his] conversations with Chris Steele...”
I think his wife (Nellie Ohr) was up to her neck in this.
His wife is neck deep in this. It is slightly possible Bruce Ohr may have been a willing (though perhaps unwitting) patsy in some aspects of this. And his scumbag wife described in the article linked below as "a Russia linguist who previously worked for the CIA’s open source research unit, Open Source Works" most likely doing Russian translation.

Sigh. I get the impression people just don’t care about this anymore. There seems to be zero interest in this subject.
Same thing that took place with Whitewater.
They could have nailed Hillary Clinton to the wall, the evidence was there, but she and the Left lied, obfuscated, delayed, and obstructed until people lost the will or desire to pursue it, and...it went away.
She took a major role in the Clinton Adminstration and the Obama Adminstration sandwiching her disgusting term as Senator, and was responsible for death and destruction in all three roles, not to mention the current Russian conspiracy crap and the Uranium One fiasco.
If we don’t fight and screw these people conducting themselves in this fashon, we are simply going to get more of this kind of behavior. I have always held out that this illegal surveillance was going to catch up with the Left, but I am kind of resigned that it won’t happen.

The UniParty protects its own. The impeachment and trial were limited to “just sex” to appease the rubes on the right while keeping Hill’s Billy in office. As before, Henry Hyde blocked David Schippers from investigating multiple deaths as homicides linked to the Clintons - in 1998.

I am having a very difficult time trying to avoid becoming chronically cynical.
I have always felt optimistic, but what I have seen since the 2016 election with regard to the electorate and behavior of elected officials is shaking me to the core.
But it has reinforced an important observation in me: I have long felt that the genius of the US Constitution was implicit in its structure, that it allowed for the fallibility of men...but also recognized that if it were ignored by people in power, that beautiful and powerful document is utterly worthless.
That is what we have seen in the abuses by the Left. They no longer deign to comply with it, and do so openly with no penalty.
That bothers me a great deal, because it means we are now untethered.
I agree completely. I forget the exact wording of this, but...what is not punished is permitted.
I am not giving up hope that these things won’t go unpunished. I can’t just yet. Because if they do go unpunished, I am not yet mentally prepared to accept what that means: the end of the Republic.
That is all that it can mean.

Not technically true; this is the MSM propaganda storm that created this perception - not contested by the GOP. The reality is that the Clintooon was legitimately impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice. He paid a $90k fine to a federal judge and surrendered his law license for his uncontested, admitted crimes.
So why did the GOP not challenge the MSM mythology about 'it was all about sex!' I pondered this question until I tired of it; but now that HRC's pervasive evil is becoming revealed, I am reminded of those 1200 (?) FBI files sequestered by Craig Livingstone... we always suspected they were used to protect Slick Willy; now it looks more like they protected HRC & her ambitions to rule America.
Slick Willy was always a stepping stone for the ultimate prize: Prez Hildebeest, who would unravel our Constitutional Republic.
I wholeheartedly agree; the America that I was born in to no longer exists. Still, I believe there is still a core of 'believers' in America willing to stand up. I do not know if they will prevail; I pray by God's Grace that they will.

I am listening to a podcast from Andrew Klavan who is kind of fun to listen to sometimes, but he just said how “Clinton shouldn’t have been impeached for having sex with an intern” and I almost threw my phone while wanting to shout “HE WASN’T IMPEACHED FOR LYING ABOUT SEX, HE WAS IMPEACHED FOR OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE, TELLING HER TO LIE, AND TAMPERING WITH THE WITNESS!!!!”
