The people that really, REALLY piss me off are the ones who state that your Religion doesn’t give you the right to discriminate, which means if you own a business you must kowtow to everyone that darkens your business door. Well, I was wondering where in the First Amendment it states that your religious rights (which includes “...the free exercise thereof...”) are totally void if you open a business!?!?

It is HIS BUSINESS! He could open it and not serve anyone if he wanted! Sure, he would go out of business and lose money, but that TOO is HIS DAMN BUSINESS!

I think the civil rights laws are some of the worst written laws, because people now think those are more important than our Bill of Rights!! It is STUPID to think that we are in a point in our Country’s lifespan, that you must decide to either own a business where you MUST kowtow to every crazy idea the Liberals decide to throw at you or you must be relegated to just be some underling at someone else’s company!!

As I have stated before, if a business wants to put up a “We Serve Whites Only” sign, then let him! And let him only serve whites - I don’t care! I can assure you that I would NEVER give that idiot a single dime of my money and I would scoff at the owner if I saw them on the street. But it is his business! Let him/her run it the way they see fit and let Capitalism help him succeed or fail accordingly!

THAT is how you get people to stop being racist ashpoles! You hit them directly in their pocketbooks, WITHOUT the Government trying to FORCE them to meet some arbitrary restraints, which will change as time allows (the courts have expanded the “meaning” of civil rights to groups and people that were never listed in the the civil rights)! That is why these were some really screwed up, but well intentioned laws! They were written poorly, and now it is costing us all!

Most fundamentally, it means the stupider ideology—the one that hates America—is going to lose in the long run as a consequence of being stupid.

In the 80’s I told a friend that had that same sentiment that the “community” just wanted to left alone and not push for more. I told her they are practicing the ratchet effect and would never stop pushing their deviancy. I told her they would be teaching it in schools and finally at some point kids wouldn’t be able to graduate without having a homosexual experience. I haven’t seen her in years but I have a feeling she has adjusted her goal post each time the ratchet clicked and would now accept whatever is proposed.

More and more, it seems that the Left goes back to pick up buried hatchets for their own use.

Rita, Carol and Diann. Should be sued, by Phillips, for lost revenue. Their agreeing to the nasty statements indicates a warped sense of Fairness and Justice. I hope they rot for the rest of their lives, fuming over their loss to the Supreme Court.
By the way, Colorado is not the wonderful state I remember from the 70s and 80s. It has been Californicated. And, I remember that the fear was too many Texans on the ski slopes!

Hey Rita, Carol and Diann, you eat $#it...

“Retribution by the payment of a large sum inducing financial distress for commission members is needed.”

Sadly, the chances of total retribution could be slim. What should be included is the cost of taking the case to the Supreme Court. All attorney fees, transportation and expenses to the wronged party should be paid by the loser. If it is the State of Colorado, so be it. Choose better Commissioners and be better stewards of the taxpayer’s dollars.

I miss the Mountains, I don’t care for what the state had become. Lived there 1983-1993.

Colorado is so politically corrupt that its’ government will try to end-run or ignore the Supreme Court ruling.

ADF has to be on guard against these reds using other anti-Christian charges against bakers, caterers, etc.

Remember Hickenlooper isn’t called “Chickenshitlooper” for nothing, marijuana is legal in “Colorado High”, and the Marxists have a serious presence in Denver, Boulder, etc.

Good for Jack Phillips. How old is Phillips? This court war has been going on for years. He may be getting close to retirement age, but I can see that he loves his work.
Best case scenario, is he can sue to recover his court expenses then move out of that state. The courts there seem to have gone fully Blue and unable to judge fairly any more. Perhaps he’s a home owner and has few other assets, not enough to just pick up and go.

Reminds me a whole lot of the anti-2nd Amendment people who always claim to have “reasonable” demands too. Problem is all these “reasonable” demands deprive others of their rights.

Dear God, these leftist bureaucrats are demons. They hate everything about religious people. When is this going to expand beyond the courts, and get to the point where some Leftist state starts jailing Christians for expressing the FACT that homosexuality is SIN condemned by God?

The argument against that, as I understand it, is that we all pay for the roads, sewer, water, etc., that businesses use. So if you open up a business that uses those services you can't discriminate against anybody. I see a lot of validity in that argument.

However, I also think that forcing someone to use their skills to make something that is against their deeply held religious beliefs is unconstitutional. So the cake shop owner who was willing to let them buy a cake but not decorate it for him was completely within his rights. The yahoo I read about in Tennessee that owned a hardware store and put up a “we don't serve gays” sign after that supreme court decision was wrong.

Well I think that it would take a pretty far stretch of the imagination to make that argument make any sense at all, but if you see a "validity" more power to you.

I think a much better and stronger argument is that it is that person's business and it should be his business to do with as he wishes - good, bad or indifferent. Since we all pay for all those items, what else does the government have a right to decide for business owners? I mean we have already given up on basic finances (since the minimum wage) and freedom of association. Hell, by your argument, Obamacare should be forced on business owners because we all pay for and use public hospitals, and having health insurance SUPPOSEDLY decreases the overall cost to those hospitals.

Call me old fashioned, but if you can argue that our money pays for services they use, then they could control everyone's VERY EXISTENCE - personal homes, personal vehicles, etc...what you see as "valid," I don't even see as a slippery slope, that is a SUICIDAL CLIFF!

But more specifically, it means the following wins will keep happening:

More and more jobs will keep coming back, national defense will keep growing, ms 13 will keep getting smaller and smaller, human traffickers will continue to bite the dust, corrupt politicians will continue to slowly exit, and the rest of the unmentionable sickos will say bye-bye to their accounts literally and metaphorically.

He did. The commission is dropping their case against him in exchange for him dropping his case against them.
