The Colorado Civil Rights Commission on Tuesday dropped its latest case against Christian cakeshop owner Jack Phillips, handing him a second victory against state officials over his refusal to create cakes for certain LGBT events.
Mr. Phillips, owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop in Lakewood, Colorado, agreed in exchange to drop his lawsuit against the state, which he filed last year after the commission took action against him for declining to make a blue-and-pink cake to celebrate a transgender transition.
Kristen Waggoner, who represents Mr. Phillips as Alliance Defending Freedom senior vice president, called the outcome great news for everyone.
Were pleased that the state has dismissed its case against Jack, said Ms. Waggoner, senior vice president. This is the second time the state has launched a failed effort to prosecute him. While it finally appears to be getting the message that its anti-religious hostility has no place in our country, the states decision to target Jack has cost him more than six-and-a-half years of his life, forcing him to spend that time tied up in legal proceedings.

AllianceDefends (@AllianceDefends) March 5, 2019 Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said in a statement that both sides agreed it was not in anyones best interest to move forward with these cases.
The larger constitutional issues might well be decided down the road, but these cases will not be the vehicle for resolving them, said Mr. Weiser, a Democrat. Equal justice for all will continue to be a core value that we will uphold as we enforce our states and nations civil rights laws.

CO Ping!
He wanted to be a painter, but he couldn't make it pay.
He figured this was a good compromise; a way to earn a living, but also do art, sort of.
He didn't bank on becoming a HERO.
They are finally finished harassing that good man?
Until the next set-up.
I sure hope so, they put him through hell and he didn’t deserve that.
Some how he should be compensated for his ordeal.
Sue em for harassment and mental anguish.
Colorado Civil Rights Commission
_____________
These human rights tribunals are active in every state and attack conservatives repeatedly without any blowback to them.
Very dangerous to have the full force of the state behind these people.
The Tribunal should be disbanded and each individual member sued for harassment and targeting
All the state officials that connect with the tribunal need to be sued also.
That’s what his counter suit was about that forced the Civil Rights Commission to drop their suit, seems they finally got someone that knew they are idiots and were going to lose.
Lets wrap this Freepathon up, Folks!
Yes!!
So... what if, having baked a cake and forgotten the sugar completely?
Would a refund have sufficed?
Just askin’
Slowly retaking ground we never should have lost to begin with.
Now Jack Phillips can have his cake and sell them, too.

Amen to that.
Anyone note if it was dismissed with prejudice, i.e., they can’t bring it again?
Bump! :^)
Next up for this guy, some freak will walk into his cake shop with a sheep or a goat, and ask for a cake to be baked for their upcoming wedding...and CO will fine him when he refuses.
That is NOT a joke - the entire government of CO seems to have it in for this guy, and they don’t care how nakedly it seems like they’re out to get him...they just want to get him.
Now, the damn laws need to be changed to enable countersuing for all attorney fees, and all other defendant costs. Better yet, let’s make it automatic. That way, Rat governments auto-pay under these circumstances, within 6 months.
