You bring up a question that worries me: If Kim gives up his nuclear stockpile, where will it go? The NKs have invested big money in developing it. I am sure this stockpile will build several nukes. Will he set a price for the U.S. to buy them like a gun buy-back operation? Or, will he put them on the international market? I can see some Islamic fanatic buying enough for a few hits on U.S. cities.
Then there is the nuclear refining equipment. How does Kim recoup his loss when he cannot use it?
I got to agree with you on that. If the Pakis and Indians get into it, it will spill over into Red China.
Why? Because the Chinese are having trouble with the muzzies on their western areas.
Will see what happens. WTH can anyone do? Gonna be a general killing IMO.
Trump is sending them a message back.
MSM cant acknowledge it but he is spitting nickels 5x5
Amen
they smell blood in the water and Trump says yeah, “it’s yours”
Imagine what genius it takes to decide not to take a bad deal, especially when it flies in the face of everything the Nork experts at the State Department (we’re talking unicorns here, but deepsters believe in unicorns) are telling us about how good the deal that had worked out and now Trump is messing it up [He’s a racist you know - Cohen said so - and he threatens people by complimenting their ties like, nice tie you’ve got their Un. Should would be a shame if it got nuked through some freak accident].
Otto’s parents refused an autopsy from our excellent Hamilton County Ohio Coroner Lakshmi Kode Sammarco who was standing at the ready to get to a cause of death. My opinion, circumstantial, is that the parents wanted a payday and hid the truth of Otto’s demise. Also, I think he probably was a spy.
Kim is probably not ready to give up his nuclear deterrent. It is his safety shield. We are squeezing him with sanctions. Which is why he ventured out of NoKo to meet POTUS. This issue is not going away any time soon and I expect it to fester for many years. It is a struggle for Kim between lack of prosperity and need for aid from outside versus security from military invasion.
Iran is a different situation. Iran wants to be the big dog in the middle-east and only nuclear capability makes it possible. In my opinion nuclear Iran under control of religious fanatics is far more dangerous than NoKo.
Un must have been tired, he should just continue on the train and go to Hawaii for some poi.
Warmbler a spy??? You’ve got to be kidding. He was only 21 when he was caught stealing a poster for a memento. And for that, he was tortured and murdered. I guess the buck does not stop with the fat man.
I agree. We also need to turn our focus on Pakistan vs India. If Pakistan goes down, all of its nukes will be fair game for the terrorists in Afghanistan. Get yourself a map and look who is on Pakistan’s SW border. Geography is a good predictor.
“It is a struggle for Kim between lack of prosperity and need for aid from outside versus security from military invasion.”
There is no good reason for any country to invade N K. Nukes are nothing but an ego trip for the fat little fu*k.
You need to read Escape from Camp 13. I doubt anything has changed since its been written. Easily the most horrible book I’ve ever read.
What I saw was typical of the Korean culture negotiating style.
When doing business, they NEVER stop negotiating. Even after contracts are signed.
Does that include Trump (for the third time)?
No ONE.
Trump has done what no other US president has done before.
It doesnt matter that this was his third time.
Only way Pakistan goes down is if there is an all out war with India, with or without nuclear exchange. If nukes are used, Indian attack will be devastating and there will be no nukes left in Pakistan to worry about.
Of more concern is the popularity of Osama like characters in Pakistan. There have been many non-democratic events in Pakistan since inception in 1947. Jihadists are active in Pakistan, and I would not be surprised if they gain control some day. Then we have a country similar to Iran except with 100 nukes ready to go.
So... as long as these two are conducting the negotiations I don't expect N. Korea to be denuclearized, they are masters at manipulating 'talks' having done so for decades........however the status quo currently is way better than it was 3 yrs. Trump is absolutely right to keep up seeing Kim in a favorable light in building their relationship because Kim actually does like Trump. Even though Kim doesn't call the shots these hardliners cannot survive without Kim being 'visually' front and center.
I often think that when we see Kims sister hovering in the shadows on these tours it's because if anything happened to Kim she's next in line to sustain the Dynasty if only a space holder for a time.
Bells and whistles, smoke and mirrors abound in N.Korea and will always carry over into the outside world as well..
Shades of Reagan walking away at Helsinki. That turned out for the best in the end, this will likely turn out for the best as well.
Is that where he learned how to shoot relatives with anti-aircraft guns?
Make no mistake, Kim is as brutal as they come. But that doesn't mean we can't work with him. We just need to keep in mind that he isn't motivated by a prosperous Korea or condos on the beaches of the Sea of Japan. He's motivated only by self-preservation and keeping his grip on power.
