You mean the man named Mark who spent most of his air time behind the microphone telling his listeners what a jerk and AH Trump was?

He then went on to claim, without proof, that he was going to vote for the AH.

Or do you mean a supportive, patriotic, Mark that I may not have heard of?

Came across this, which describes Crux and his ‘Never Trump” cohorts, such as Doormat Mittens Romney:

TRUE COLORS: Plan B for rebel Republicans: Wound Trump so he’ll lose to a Democrat in general election.

In 2020, that is the sort of primary challenge some “Never Trump” Republicans envision pursuing against this president if their favored option — running a contender strong enough to win — doesn’t come to fruition. For Republicans committed to dislodging Trump at all costs, wounding him in a primary would be adequate. No president challenged for renomination in the modern era has won a second term.

“For a number of people I’ve spoken to, putting a torpedo into Trump’s operation would suffice for them — if they could mortally wound him in a primary,” said a Republican insider involved in the effort.

Outright defeating a sitting president in a primary is nearly impossible, and Trump’s intraparty opponents are realistic about their prospects.

That they’d rather help elect what is likely to be the most extreme Democratic nominee in decades than deal with a successful but “distasteful” Republican shows that their far more interested in Not-Our-Kind-Dear snobbery than in a single damn conservative principle.

“Cruz, a strong backer of Trump’s wall proposal, has made no explicit statement about Trump’s declaration, saying only that he wants to see the underlying legal justifications....”

My goodness guys, calm down-—he simply wants to research if there’s any legal ramifications. We complain when the law is not followed and we complain when someone wants to point out what the law is——and before you get on my case, I’m NOT a “Ted bot”.

Ah! I have fond memories of being flamed here for favoring Trump over St. Ted in 2016. The “never Teds” among us are unsurprised.

Cruz wants to see what?

The legal justification is Trump declared an emergency.
And Trump has the power to do so.

Cruz should go back to Canada.

Just called his office and urged him to block the legislation to block the National Emergency. I said if Cornyn can be opposed to it, so can he. I said this is the first time I’ve needed to call his office because I usually agree with him.

Doubt it does much but I felt moved to do it.

On the contrary. Cruz has had sufficient time to gather facts. He’s just slow playing this so he is not forced to publicly support POTUS on such a donor unfriendly issue “the wall.” Apparently, McConnell intends to leave POTUS exposed and without GOP support for WEEKS before the issue is voted on. And of course while POTUS is conducting sensitive nuclear arms negotiations. This is beyond pathetic even for the useless beltway GOP.

Cruz is between a rock and hard place......being he is a constitutionalist he understands why the left objecting on ‘their’ grounds......what's tricky is what Trump has publicly 'over-stated' that has muddied the waters in stating this emergency later rather than sooner.

Hey, He’s a bona fide Constitushonal Expurt! And just when I thought he’d pulled his head out of his ass, a recurrence of recto-cranial inversion.

I don’t recall his objections to any of Obama’s emergency declarations...

Nonsense. POTUS was advised to wait for Congress to act (ha!) and now that he did is being stabbed in the back. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. The GOP hates Trump and is doing everything they can to sabotage him in 2020 in favor of a progressive Democrat President.

“Ah! I have fond memories of being flamed here for favoring Trump over St. Ted in 2016. The “never Teds” among us are unsurprised.”

And the thing was - Cruz had a GREAT career path, if he wasn’t suck a dick. When Trump first talked the wall, in the Summer of 2015, Cruz’s response was something like “Sounded pretty good to me”. He probably could have even been his VP, or Supreme Court, if he had simply continued to put the country in front of his ego. His reputation among conservatives as IMPECCABLE, and I’d say most Trump supporters started with Cruz, but then didn’t see him stepping up to the game when Trump entered.

But he could not control his ego and now that his re-election is behind him, he’s going back to his old ways and having to draw attention to himself. And he will. The media will PLAY THIS UP like we’ve never seen. Cruz doubting Trump...unreal.
