DiGenova: 'We Are In a Civil War ... I Vote and I Buy Guns' (Joe DiGenova on Laura Ingraham)
CNS ^ | February 22, 2019 | Michael W. Chapman

Posted on 02/22/2019 11:08:02 AM PST by xzins

Commenting on the double standard the political left and the liberal media play -- conservatives are pilloried and leftists are coddled -- former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova explained that America is in a "civil war" now and that things will get much worse before they get better -- "total war."

DiGenova, who also served as special counsel to investigate the Teamsters and as counsel to the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, made his remarks on the Feb. 21 edition of The Laura Ingraham Podcast.

During the discussion, Igraham noted how the left and the liberal media work hand-in-hand to spin and cover for wrongdoing on the left and yet endlessly attack the right. For instance, the leftist press constantly refer to President Trump as Hitler, Stalin, a dictator, a Nazi, Mussolini, racist, white supremacist, treasonous, disturbed, demented, bigoted, etc.

Also, the left has essentially forgotten the shooting of Republican congressmen by a Bernie Sanders supporter in 2017 and they largely ignore the death threats and assassination attempts against President Trump. They downplayed the anti-Semitism of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Mich.) and immediately rushed to defend Jussie Smollett who, as we now know, has been accused of perpetrating a hate crime hoax.

President Abraham Lincoln. (Getty Images) “We are in a civil war in this country," diGenova told Ingraham.

“There’s two standards of justice, one for Democrats one for Republicans," he said. "The press is all Democrat, all liberal, all progressive, all left. They hate Republicans, they hate Trump."

"So the suggestion that there’s ever going to be civil discourse in this country for the foreseeable future is over," said the former federal prosecutor. "It’s not going to be."

"It’s going to be total war," he said. "And as I say to my friends, I do two things – I vote and I buy guns.”

” media and academia has given the Left a very mistaken impression that victory is at hand, that they are now in a position to demand a “discussion” in which they are always correct and no one else has the right to speak. That’s the sort of thing that tends to start fights that nobody can stop. “

Brits...”We’ll seize the powder and guns at Concord and all of this rebellion will collapse”

Japan...”We destroy the US Fleet at Pearl Harbor and the Americans will be forced to sue for peace like the Russians did after Tsushima”

Civilians at Bull Run...”Lets go watch the battle, things will be over quickly, we may never see anything like this again”.

Santa Anna...”We’ll wipe out the Texian resistance movement at the Alamo and put a stop to this.....”

Hitler...”When we kick in the door of Russia, the whole rotten house will collapse”.

There is a long and grand history of miscalculations causing long and horrific suffering.

heck, a LOT of us here have been praying and waiting for those lovely days.

I have stated on FR a thousand times in the last 10 years: we CANNOT CO-EXIST WITH LEFTARDS. It is NOT possible.

One of us has to “go” for the sake of the country.

If they try to remove Trump outside of an election that is exactly what will happen! That would be the final straw or 1st bullet!

There is one more thing to do - PRAY. Do not underestimate the power of our Almighty God when His wrath is unleashed. We need to b e certain to be on His side!

Note how they only attack on their own turf!

Note how they only burn down their own neighborhoods!

“In order for our side to fight back in any meaningful way we must first organize. We seem to have some natural refusal to do that.”

That’s because they are the collectivists. You see it in a microcosm in Congress - the Leftists vote in lock-step, no matter how absurd their position, whereas the Stupids vote their conscience (or their donors) and are rarely unified. The Left has a natural advantage in this regard...except that most of the guns are in our side (and that is the ONLY reason why they are so dedicated to destroying civilian gun ownership, it most definitely is NOT because the wish to reduce “gun violence”).

We are, indeed, at war. It isn’t open and hot, yet, but we’re trending down that path.

Interesting advice, but we’ll get buried eventually if we leave our children in government schools. When will we wise up??

Agreed. Thanks for saying this. Can’t be said by enough people.

“Usually in a civil war all sides suffer casualties. Sadly, the left is almost untouched so far.”

Because those not on the Left operate on a toggle switch, not a reostat. It is very hard to flip the toggle switch, but when it does get flipped, there are going to be a LOT of dead Leftists (and that’s even before the shitties get starved out because the truckers are either on our side, or the roads are blocked).

I disagree. There are a lot of us out here that have talked about things, in the frankest possible terms, with a few close friends/family members that have their heads screwed on straight.

We’re waiting for the Claire Wolfe moment and making sure we have plenty of ammo and easy to carry food. Organizing is not the issue. Leadership and logistics are.

Agreed, but to take a reasonable example from above, many feel that the removal of this President would spark it hot. Ok, lets follow that line of thinking for a moment. What would that look like exactly? How? Who? When? Where?

The steps to have a ready made answer to those questions have not been taken, they could be taken now, while it is still legal to do so. (sort of)

Do we envision some NRA march on the Capital? A huge rally promoted by Talk Radio celebrities? These are the organizational basics that we have not created. I say that if this President was illegally removed from office tomorrow their would be grumbling at best, because that is all we have prepared ourselves to do.

The left will only know they have gone too far when red states and blue states start exchanging artillery fire.

The son of a friend of mine (my age) was mover and a shaker in the "Occupy Boston" activity. (You'll recall they didn't want anyone to be considered its leader.) I'm sure he continues in that vein. He's smart, having gotten a perfect 1600 on his SAT. But he has his weaknesses. He has treated me derisively on occasion. (I hired him one summer while he was in college but he never completed any deliverables.)

Anyway, we spar a little on the CIA's FB. He likes to call me an old man. He calls Soros "[my] favorite boogeyman." Today he came out with something I consider disturbing and somewhat out of character (though I have known of his tendencies, certainly from the 12/2011 Occupy Boston days if not sooner):

"News flash, the social contract that existed when you boomers grew up has been entirely destroyed. The lessons you learned during childhood do not apply. The game has changed."

I think its portent is equivalent and perhaps related to the absolutely outrageous ANTIFA false flag and its other activities, and the outlandish Tucker Carlson interview with a Black Lives Matter activist in the past week or two. War is coming if not already here!

Real question: under what circumstances will each of us who is armed fire our first shot in anger? It is assumed that it will be in self defense, but where?

A MAGA cap wearer had a nutcase threaten to shoot him. Will incidents like this start to increase?

About the CWII Ping List

The CWII Ping List is short for Civil War II. It is NOT a list of people advocating another Civil War in America. It is a list of people who are interested in the parallels between the Civil War (or War Between the States, if you prefer) and our current situation, or more generally are noting the references to a 'coming Civil War' that are made in the press.

Of course sometimes this is merely a figure of speech, such as "The Tea Parties are fighting a civil war for the heart of the GOP". This would not merit a CWII ping.

On the other hand someone saying something like "The events in California are reminiscent of what happened in Yugoslavia in the period proceeding the Civil War" would merit a ping.

FR rules do not permit advocating for the overthrow of the Republic, and I am not aware of anyone doing so on the list. Still many do see that as the political climate worsens we may be heading in a direction that makes such a conflict all but inevitable, particularly if other avenues for resolving our differences are taken away. Such as widespread vote fraud by leftists making elections meaningless, or a small cadre of judges over-ruling all attempts to end destructive policies over the clear will of the people.

The correct keyword tag for the Civil War II ping list is "CWII". Please Freep Mail me to get on the list
