A photo of Governor Bill Lee has surfaced depicting him wearing a Confederate uniform while attending an "Old South" party with his fraternity, Kappa Alpha.

The yearbook page in the "Greek Life" section features a caption saying:

"...KA is based on the ideals that its founding fathers saw exemplified in their college president, Robert E. Lee. These ideals constituted the frame and fabric of Southern Culture and include chivalry, valor, loyalty and reverence for womankind. It is for this reason that KA at Auburn Univ. each spring has a week long celebration of the grandeur and glory of the OLD SOUTH."

First stop for the Virginia Guv ‘apology tour’ was supposed to be Virginia Commonwealth University - a predominately BLACK school.
THEY told him to stay away, so he elbowed his way into a group called ???(something) 24, 24 former VCU students (from the 60s) who got arrested at a sit in.

Also the Lt Gov’s ‘accuser’ is insisting Virginia start an investigation into her charges and she is pulling the ‘feminine card’ pulling out the ‘we ALL deserve to be heard’.

The the other stooge proudly proclaimed that Virginia was going to join the suit against PDJT and the wall.. My local fish wrap (weekly) has an online version and the letters to the response of the article is 100% AGAINST him. (the AG).(as of Wednesday AM the 5 they printed are all against him..they even printed my ‘insults’...

That might work. If I run into a black guy hunting turkey and he asks “ why are you only wearing black face paint?” I can always say “well you’re only wearing green and brown.” If I run into a zombie, its the first rule “always double tap”. The Clintons wanted to ban semi-auto pistols. I was a wheel gun person. I went and got a 1911, now several others. They wanted to ban high capacity mags, ditto the several others. I went to a Deep South college in the 1960s.

KA was definitely the preeminent “Southern” fraternity on my campus, and well known for having the most popular football players.

SAE was well known for young men from wealthy families.

TKE was kind of the “nice guy” Frat - several of my good friends were TKE, even though the unspoken Frat Rule was that your best friends should come from inside your Frat, not outside.

It wouldn’t do any good to say that there were slave states in the Union, or that the war was about preserving the Union, not slavery.

I think that's more right than wrong, but those two do not separate neatly.

I heard about this this afternoon on Phil Valentine's radio show and wanted to scream. I had Lee pegged as a weenie when I met him at the beginning of his campaign for governor so his response to this doesn't surprise me.

Apparently someone at USA Today has been combing through yearbooks (900 so far) and finding these things.

It is a good thing we didn't have this sort of thing decades earlier. Who knows who they might have taken down.
