Sen. Bernie Sanders has confirmed to VPR that he is seeking the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
His official announcement video is expected to stream online Tuesday morning.
"I wanted to let the people of the state of Vermont know about this first," Sanders told VPR's Bob Kinzel. "And what I promise to do is, as I go around the country, is to take the values that all of us in Vermont are proud of — a belief in justice, in community, in grassroots politics, in town meetings — that's what I'm going to carry all over this country."

Do any of you think the talk of Moochelle entering the race is real? This is a very weak field of RATs and I think The One still holds a grip over many of their voters, so she would benefit greatly from that! Just a hunch that this ends up a Clinton vs Obama fight for the nomination, whether it’s between Shrillary and Moochelle or their endorsed surrogates!

What we need to pay attention to is where this moves the ball down the field for socialism in 2024 and beyond. Time and demographic trends are not our friend.

If I'm not mistaken, when the State OWNS the means of production that is called COMMUNISM. Socialism allows for private ownership, but reckless redistribution by government is its failing.
This rebranding called "Democratic Socialist" is to look less scary and differentiate between other failed socialist societies, which also have elections and private ownership - for awhile. Chavez and Maduro were both voted in.

I didn’t like the media switching the colors from blue to red after Pres. Reagan won in 1980. Red should be the color of the Democrat side because they are now Commies.
