Sen. Bernie Sanders has confirmed to VPR that he is seeking the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
His official announcement video is expected to stream online Tuesday morning.
"I wanted to let the people of the state of Vermont know about this first," Sanders told VPR's Bob Kinzel. "And what I promise to do is, as I go around the country, is to take the values that all of us in Vermont are proud of — a belief in justice, in community, in grassroots politics, in town meetings — that's what I'm going to carry all over this country."

These current 2020 Presidential poles all have to do with name recognition. We FReepers tend to follow politics much more than the normal person. However, I can happily admit that I would recognize the bottom 7 people on the list you posted.
The fact is Biden and Bloomberg are the only ones on the list that are not complete wackos. Bloomberg has enough of his own money to buy the election.
I have met Biden. I remember when he came to the Amherst, NH 4th of July parade by HIMSELF. He was all alone. All the typical candidates show up with at least one bus load of supports. He was all alone. No party support. I used to find him entertaining when he would call into the Don Imus show when he was a Senator. Imus would get him to say things that other politicians would never say. Kerry used to call into Imus too. You could tell he was a complete phony. Biden seemed like a regular guy.

Of all the Dem's running, I think Bernie might be the perfect candidate for them. There's no freebie, no special interest group, no amount of pandering Bernie won't do to win the nomination. I think he's their guy. Now if he gets the Alexandria Obnoxious Kotex endorsement, he's gonna win it all.

Biden is the front runner - and he hasn’t even announced? Oh, good... we can be seeing pervy Joe videos from now until election date (besides the ones of him touching a variety of children, there’s also that horrifying moment that he hugs Hillary getting off of an airplane... and DOESN’T let go... SHUDDER. There’s something you can NEVER unsee....).
I don’t think he is. The DNC already said they won’t except him. But that doesn’t mean they won’t go back on that. Bernie will split the dems between D and I.
Yeah, hellary is sitting on the sidelines swishing her tail like an angry cat waiting for all the crazy rats to cannibalize themselves. Then she is going to jump in at the convention and save the demonrat party and the country. That way no campaign stops in the darth vader smocks, no tossing into the scooby wagon, no coughing fits, no stairway gymnastics, and it will finally be ‘her turn’. Watch.
Oh man this is going to be hilarious watching the RATs outleft each other to get the nomination. Personally, I think Bernie’s “moment in the sun” has passed him by and he won’t be a factor, but he’ll add some fun to those first debates this coming summer.
