Now it’s time for the left-wing damage control machine to fire up. In the next week, expect articles in the Pest and Slimes and on CNN along the lines of “Okay, it didn’t happen exactly as first described, but among the black gay washed-up actors community, fear of Trump is very real.”
Remember, liberals never admit their lies.
How many hundreds of hours of CPD and FBI time has been wasted by on this Smollett investigation? All for the purpose of what? So Smollett could play the victim card?! This clown had better be charged with staging a fake crime.
And, there are too many viewers whose lives are so bereft of drama, that they tune into whatever "news" station is "providing" it.
IOW, if a station isn't onboard the latest fake "happening", they are going to lose ad dollars. And their jobs.
OTOH, it's a good way to continue the dumbing down of America.

I’ve mostly been watching Ellen Page’s feed after her anti-Pence/pro-Jussie screed on Colbear’s show a week or two ago. Radio f’n silence. I mean why not? It’s not like the same fraudulent media that blasted this hoax though their megaphone is going to stick a microphone in her face demanding an apology for what, believing the same bulls**t they were peddling for weeks? Not happening.
They’re both just hoping the story blows over as soon as possible. It served its purpose of smearing Trump supporters. They just hope not too many people hear about the correction and hope that the next smear job hoaxer doesn’t get caught.
I wish I knew who to attribute this to, but as I once heard someone observe that the #2 job of the media is to promote the stories they want you to know about. Their #1 job is to suppress the stories they’d rather you not know about.
This story sort of reminds me when Milli Vanilli got caught in the 90’s lip synching to music they didn’t sing. Had to give back the Grammy award they received. One of the guys drank and drugged himself to death. The entertainment industry didn’t want anything to do with them after they got caught. This guy Jussie did something far worse in my opinion and should serve time for fabricating a crime (and we all know that is was technically a hate crime).

I'm 71 years old and have been around the block quite a few times. I don't know anyone who would go to the extent this guy did to justify his hate of our president and his supporters by planning, rehearsing and carrying out a fake hate crime for money. Who does these things?

Don't know what will happen as the police get closer to charging him with false reporting, but the damage has already been done. The story is out there and many people will never know it was eventually discovered to be fake.
All they'll remember is that some MAGA Trump supporters attacked this queer black actor, confirming and justifying their own prejudices against Trump and conservatives.

But you're not the president, so you know he will probably tweet about it. If for no other reason than to defend himself and his supporters. It's in his nature to do so.
Republicans have chosen to be silent and sit on their hands during incidents like this for too long. Now that this "attack" is looking like a hoax, we should be talking loudly about it.
DemocRATS attacked President GW Bush for years and he did nothing, thinking it was below the office to fight back. That strategy just emboldened the democRATS to get worse.
Because if we don't defend ourselves, no one else will. Not the cops. Not the media. Not our opposition, the democRATS.
And the only thing the public will remember is that some queer black actor was attacked by two racist, homophobic, MAGA Trump supporters. They won't remember or read or hear about the story being fake because the media will sweep it under the rug.
Well, Jussie spoke the truth, he said two men attacked him, wearing red MAGA hats poured bleach on him, put a rope around his neck and yelled racist and anti gay slurs. He just forgot the part about paying them to do it.
