...In Maine and Vermont, felons never lose their right to vote, even while they are incarcerated.
In 14 states and the District of Columbia, felons lose their voting rights only while incarcerated, and receive automatic restoration upon release.
In 22 states, felons lose their voting rights during incarceration, and for a period of time after, typically while on parole and/or probation. Voting rights are automatically restored after this time period. Former felons may also have to pay any outstanding fines, fees or restitution before their rights are restored as well.
In 12 states felons lose their voting rights indefinitely for some crimes, or require a governors pardon in order for voting rights to be restored, or face an additional waiting period after completion of sentence (including parole and probation) before voting rights can be restored...
Do any of them get their Second Amendment Rights restored, or is that an inconvenient Political issue for the SJW’s?
Federal law restricts the gun rights of felons.
I thought it also restricted Voting Rights, but that doesn’t seem to be an issue to some Governors.
Pick and choose Law Enforcement, how Orwellian.
That is where we're at today.
Is Northam staying at the zoo? Because I’m seeing a pander bear.
CC
There is a huge distinction between the two in the legal system.
Good grief
If Governors can willy nilly make the Political decision to void the terms of Punishment for a Felony Conviction, (not a Pardon, but pick and choose what is forgiven - Voting good, Firearm Possession bad), those distinctions are mute.
Continuing to repeat your misinformation will not make it correct.
The last post is as inaccurate and as wrong as your first post.
So, Governors can’t make these feel good Political decisions gutting the Punishment for Felony Convictions after all?
Please explain the distinction between being convicted of a Felony versus a Misdemeanor? It seems that line has faded away and being labeled a Felon is just another word for Democrat Voter.
Just another justification for why Northam should resign!
What an ass!
Northam needs to resign.
