Presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar refutes Trump questioning whether climate change is real
ABC "News" ^ | February 11, 2019 | by Cheyenne Haslett (D-ABC)

Minnesota Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar on Monday refuted President Donald Trump's questioning whether climate change is real because it was snowing heavily when she announced this weekend she's running for president.

"Okay. That is so wrong," Klobuchar said on ABC's "Good Morning America" in her first network TV interview since declaring, pushing back on the president's tweet that it was "bad timing" that she talked "proudly" of fighting global warming "while standing in a virtual blizzard of snow, ice and freezing temperatures."

"I'm sorry if it still snows in the world but the point is that we know climate change is happening. Just this last year it was one of the four hottest years in the history of the world. That's what's happening right now," Klobuchar said.

The thermometer was invented in 1709.

How was temperature measured before then?

“Just this last year it was one of the four hottest years in the history of the world.”

Doubt we’ve been recording actual and accurate ‘world temperature’ for very long. Maybe never. It’s all a SWAG (scientific wild ass guess).

Well you can’t live without heat in MN and you can’t live without air conditioning in AZ.

Electricity ain’t cheap, unless you are well off, most middle class can’t cool to 72 in the summer in AZ.

"Just this last year it was one of the four hottest years in the history of the world..."

And all this supposed warming she is citing is Within the Margin of Error of their Measurements. Hundredths of a Degree!!!

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Here's a little exercise: Get several thermometers of different types (mercury, coil, digital, IR) and place them in the same location. Let them sit for 24 hours. Use them to measure the temperature of that one single spot. Record their various readings to the first decimal place F.

What did you find? Remind yourself that the alarmists are claiming hottest vs not-hottest in values of less than a degree.

Now consider the claims that "the earth" and "the year" of such-and-such "year" is the first or third or tenth hottest or whatever'th on record.

Take note of the numerical temperature claims AND the DIFFERENCES between the supposedly hottest year, 2nd hottest year, 3rd hottest year, 27th hottest year, and so on.

Ask yourself:
1) How does one measure the "temperature of the earth?" Does one do this orally, rectally, with mercury, IR, plastic strip.....?
2) How does one measure the "average" temperature "of the earth?" And is this "average" what the journalists scientists are referring to when these journalists scientists refer to the "temperature of the earth?"
3) How does one measure the temperature of "a year?" Does one do this on New Years Eve? On July 4?
4) If you somehow had an oven that you knew with absolute certainty heated its interior to exactly 100.000 F degrees, and you placed a single thermometer of your choice in that 100.000 deg oven, and you recorded the reading of that specific thermometer in that 100.000 deg oven every day for one full month, do you think that particular thermometer would read the exact same reading, to the tenth of a degree, for an entire month? How about for a full year? How about for every day since 1970?

And all this is trying to done simply to calibrate the error within a single thermometer and among several thermometers at a SINGLE POINT ON EARTH.

Now consider: how does one measure "the temperature of the earth?" Does one take one thermometer of one single type and race around the earth and take the 10,000 measurements every day at places known not to change, and repeat this every day since 1970, and take these measurements in the air and in space and in the clouds and at sea and under the sea and in the dirt and on the dirt and in cities and on grass and in the forest and...

It is not easy to measure the temperature of the earth, and the TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES CLAIMED WITH ALARM BY THOSE CLAIMING (falsely) THAT RECENT YEARS ARE THE HOTTEST ON RECORD ARE TINY COMPARED WITH ERRORS INHERENT IN USING MANY CHANGING TEMPERATURE MEASURING DEVICES IN A VARIETY OF CHANGING PLACES USING A VARIETY OF CHANGING TECHNIQUES OVER INTERVALS OF ONE YEAR AND THEN OVER A MERE FEW DECADES.

Things to come

As we look around worldwide we find events such as too hot in one area, unseasonably cold in another, along with floods, draughts, more destructive and frequent earthquakes as well as volcanic eruptions. Someone in a motorboat going down an avenue in Kuwait City, while they are trying to get rid of locusts and bugs in Mecca. And there are many, many, many more of such unusual events.

Each event considered individually may easily construed to be an aberration, just what you may think by looking at the individual paint strokes of a picture, but looking at the overall and whole picture worldwide, the idea may sink in that there are forces at work way beyond our control. Unfortunately this is just the prelude of THINGS TO COME unrelated to human endeavors, even so ignorant and dumb politicians including many so called scientists are attempting to tell us otherwise. Passing it off as global warming and since this did take off like a lead balloon, more recently referring to it as CLIMATE CHANGE which of course is true up to a point, as climate does change from one day to the next, yet it does not address the real causes, the two forces most likely in play are complex and completely unrelated to any human endeavors or activities.

The most recent but not the only cause for Earth’s unusual behavior is another GSM or Grand Solar Minimum with the last one, the Maunder Minimum taking place from 1645 to 1715 and the other joining in is the BEGINNING or re-occurrence (repetition) of the 3600 year signature cycle. Having both running concurrent does not bode well for smooth sailing. There is also a good possibility that this re-occurring 3600 signature cycle may also have ushered in or triggered this new GMS cycle of our sun, in the same manner as it has triggered some unusual behavior amongst some of the other planets in our solar system.

This 3600 signature cycle is the same cycle which ushered in the TEN PLAGUES and gave the then Egyptian Pharaoh, most likely Thutmose an Excedrin headache. Eventually being document and recorded as the biblical stories of the TEN PLAGUES followed by the EXODUS. Those were worldwide events not just limited to ancient Egypt as by checking historic accounts of ancient China we find that they were plagued by very similar events, such as unseasonable heat or cold spells, along with storms, floods, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

Anyone who has been paying attention to what is going on a worldwide scale, aside from humans getting into each others hair and attempting to kill each other; one would think it would ring a bell! But has it? As stated earlier, so far by living in the Midwest we have gotten by relatively easy and unscathed. Let us hope it will continue.

Gee, I’m sure I’ve read about towns thriving in Arizona long before electricity, and/or air conditioning. It’s surprising that it wasn’t too hot for the “gunfight at the OK corral”.

I’m sure MN was well acquainted with firewood, coal, etc., back then as well.

Like I said, I grew up without Air Conditioning, finally got a window unit installed after I was married, at age 25. It only cooled the room it was in.

I’m saying that people will survive in what they are used to...thus the point of my whole post, and the contrast between being inside with a/c, and going outside, is the point...like going into a darkened movie theater in the middle of the day...you eventually get used to it.

I still live in Georgia, with central air conditioning, but in the summer we spend a great deal of our time sitting out on the screened porch, or barbecuing on the patio.

I remember, as a kid, people from up north coming down here and having to be in the Georgia heat...like sales people, etc., they didn’t last long, and would soon return back to their northern homes.

There are no absolutes.

The POTUS has never said Climate Change isn’t real.

If the Climate never changed, the upper portion of the U.S. and the entire Nation of Canada would not be habitable.

He said the Climate changes, but blaming Mankind for it may or may not ring true.

I love that link.

Leonard Nimoy said "it is the worst cold recorded in the last 40 years"

Hmmm.... 1977-40= 1937

Notice that "climate scientists" in 1977 were CONVINCED that the next Ice Age is on its way.

If you can't trust Spock to know what he's talking about, who CAN you trust?

"Were Indians tracking temperature all over the USA 500 years ago? No wait, we don't even have a clue as to how many Indians there were 500 years ago."

Yes, that's true, but let me assure you those Indians were burning coal and firing up gasoline engines all the time.

Not to mention all of those private jets they were taking.

I've learned much from our liberal overlords.

Any reasonable WAG has some thought behind it and this one ain’t scientific.

A recent paper from England alleges nearly 60 million indigenous people were killed in Central America between 1492 and 1600 causing a drop in crop cultivation which led to more capture of CO2 leading to a drop in global temperature. The authors admit to only using models giving the desired result.

But I gave it high scores for intersectionality.

No, it was literally "existential" snow and cold.

Heck, with 12% humidity in the Phoenix Valley 72 wouldn’t even be comfortable. We go in and out some during the day, so at our house in the Phoenix Valley we have the thermostat at 78 degrees. If that feels too warm, we turn on a ceiling fan and drink some ice water.
