NORCROSS, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Looking for a last-minute dinner idea for your special someone this Valentine's Day? Why not celebrate love with something scattered, smothered, and covered.

This year, select Waffle House restaurants accross 21 states will be offering a romantic night out for two to celebrate love that special way that only a Waffle House can offer.

Nearly 200 restaurants in the chain will be dimming the lights, putting out nice white table cloths, and welcoming couples for a special dinner service.

This is the 12th year in a row the company is celebrating with the Valentine's Day tradition. It started in 2008 at a Waffle House in John's Creek, Georgia. when the manager noticed more customers dining on the holiday and decided to make it special for everyone.

"This is the only night that Waffle House locations take reservations," adds Kinskey. "We've had customers asking for months when they can get their reservation in for 2019."

If you want to celebrate in this special way, you can find a list of participating locations here. You'll need to reserve your table, so be sure you secure your spot!

I wonder if I would be safe in assuming the 200 were chosen based on their proximity to a trailer park?

What a great idea.

We’ll go out for a romantic, candlelit dinner of waffles and pancakes.

I’ll report back if it goes well.

Thank You for Posting the Link. Just RSVP’ed for the 9:00PM Seating !

Now I have to find one of those Tuxedo T-Shirts a nice pair of Dress Shorts and decide what’s cleaner- Sandals or Tennis Shoes.

Mama Loves Waffle House. The other fav is a good steak. But for the price of a high quality steak dinner out We can cook steaks and fixin’s at home and go to WH twice. If We can get a VacPac of Ribeye or Tenderloin, cut them 2” thick and get 10 -12 steaks so We have more for later.

Ping

The kid is gone but we’ve never been out on Valentine’s Day. I was a bartender for many years and worked my share of every single holiday. Seen it all. You couldn’t pay me to go out on any of them. I always buy a nice steak and a couple of lobster tails from the meat market and we have a very nice meal at home.

It’s always romantic when the waitress stands 10 feet from the cook and yells my order at him

...something scattered, smothered, and covered.

That should happen after returning home.

Part of the reason I’m over it is because after many years as a stay at home mom, I started waitressing. Valentines = $ for the past three years.

I’m at a new place now and am the newest hire; figured that I wouldn’t get to work that night. I was so grateful when the owner gave me the choice of whether I wanted to work that night or not. Yes!

February is tournament time in wrestling; when all the kids were young and I was home alone with them from the moment they woke up until they went to bed I craved a date night with my husband and Valentines was just one more thing that we couldn’t do because of wrestling. And I miss those days of having nothing to do but care for my sweet kiddos. I now have obligations outside the home seven days a week. Snow day cancellations have been a huge blessing this winter!

It is also good for people who don’t have much money to spend on a dinner out.

Youve been around here long enough to know better.

Those who post on FR all run around with fistfulls of cash.

The fact that one halfs fists are full of coins scraped together to get the laundry done doesnt dawn on the other half of the posters.

LOL! I’ve been to a few elementary tournaments-some of the parents are absolutely crazy; acting like it’s a division 1 college tournament. My husband was a head coach at the high school level for 20 years, he now coaches at a junior college. Completely different atmosphere-maybe there’s something about being matside during a match. That’s not allowed outside of elementary wrestling. Cant wait to see his reaction to your link!

Our older boys didn’t do elementary tournaments (practiced only) up until they were in 4th and 5th grade. Mostly because he didn’t want them burned out and tired of wrestling by the time it mattered. Our youngest son will probably never wrestle as we are older and neither one of us is willing to spend weekends at youth tournaments anymore. That article makes me want to stay away even more!
