In the 2018 election at least two and maybe three democrat sheriffs in NC were “elected”. One of them recently came out and stated that he would not cooperate with ICE which the previous sheriff had been doing for years.
“Newly-elected Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough says at the center of the debate over detainers for immigration violations is a violation of a different kind — a violation of the U.S. Constitution.
“Basically, I’m detaining somebody’s Fourth Amendment right without due process,” Kimbrough said.
In May 2016, a contract was signed between the U.S. Department of Justice United States Marshals Service and the previous administration of former Sheriff Bill Schatzman. In that agreement, there is a section authorizing other agencies to use the agreement. In that section, both the Bureau of Prisons and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement — or ICE-— are checked off.
“We will not be an extension of immigrant investigations,” Kimbrough said, during a press conference Wednesday afternoon.”
It is my belief that these newly elected sheriffs were placed in office to do the bidding of democrat overlords.
North Carolina used to be a great state to visit but with these “new” sheriffs toeing the Democrat Party line of non-cooperation with ICE, it makes me hesitant to go down their anymore.
Some of my close relatives do go down there, so if there is a permitted CCW reciprocity with Virginia, you can be sure that they are armed. Got kids to protect. Father is a Marine Corp combat veteran of two wars. You just don’t piss him off.
Raleigh, Charlottesville, and other college cities/towns are spreading leftist poison everywhere including North Carolina. Hope the conservative voters fight back next election or they will become 3rd world shitholes like so many other Democrat places.

Yeah, like accepting countless ChiComs in our universities then complaining about ChiComs stealing technology and industrial plans. The short-term gain (tuition for schools with empty seats) simply outweighs the long-term damage...

I’m not sure our universities (or the pols who support them) consider that kind of thing damage. I have a feeling they think of it as strategy.
Oh definitely; they just know it doesn’t play well with Americans priced out of those schools.
