I was at college in MISSISSIPPI in the 1980's, and the thought of wearing blackface was repugnant to us even then.

The civil rights movement was 1954-1970 (more or less).
So a college student age 19 in 1980 and a Medical School Grad in 1984 didn’t know? What kind of students were they?
I can understand if they went to school in the 1940s, or if they were uneducated “deplorables clinging to their guns”. But these were college students in the 1980s claiming they didn’t know.
Should the be thrown out because they are stupid? Or because they are liars?
