Sounds like they are acknowledging THERE IS A CHANCE he is lying! Can’t wait to see how this ends.
I heard they can not collaborate his story with cameras that were in the location where he claimed the alleged assault took place.
They only see him walking through the tunnel, no altercations, no one following him or even walking ahead of him.
The story is BS
Chicago defines corruption, but there are still plenty of good honest cops there, and hopefully the obvious conclusion (that dumb*ss actor lies even worse than he acts) will make it past the Democrat filter system.
Will never happen.
The cop spokesman knows its all bullshit, but he also knows they can’t prove a negative, excepting Smollett or his agent directly admitting to creating a fraud — which will not happen.
So his comments are just ass-covering so they don’t appear like total dupes and co-conspirators to the public.
My theory yesterday after the police stated they had additional information they were withholding from the public.
They have him on video for the entire excursion. They know he is lying. They are just sending him signals that he needs to fess up. They don’t want to be the ones to say it.
Of course. If the cameras show him going into the tunnel all fine, and coming out “attacked” with NO ONE following him in, going in earlier, nor coming out.....

This drama queen wanted to boost his “street cred” and his Hollywood-cred.
I hope the full weight of the Chicago PD falls on him and the liberal MSM has to eat a lot of crow.

One would think they would get the clue. Maybe when they have to pay for the crime they accuse others of doing but are lying; they will stop this nonsense.
I don’t, for a second, believe this Smollett guy at all. Not even a little bit. I had the same disbelief in the lying accuser Christine Blow-Job Ford. They should all be prosecuted and sentenced harshly.
Actually, you can prove a negative if LE has visual or forensics evidence.
How much money has this investigation cost the city of Chicago? Will Smollett be required to reimburse the city?
The Chicago PD has known since the first hour of this bogus “story” that it was complete bunk..but since this douche bag is a “Celebrity” who Ive never even heard of before..and they know the race hustlers would show up demanding action, they had to investigate this claim.
