The children of foreign nationals are precisely who the founders were excluding because they are NOT naturally citizens because they are born with multiple citizenships.
Natural born citizens are NATURALLY citizens because they have only ONE nationality.

Suppose Panamanian born McCain was elected, if say, RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA (whoops sorry) had stirred up trouble in Panama, anything he did or didn't do would be a political football!
Few would be satisfied with any action or inaction he took as being purely in America's best interests. The taint of possible fondness or dislike of Panama skewing his decisions would be as inescapable as the aroma of a fresh cow pie.

They think they speak for all of us and ignore that they are far worse than those of us they try to disparage with the “That’s not who we are” crap. If I was like them, I’d have to seek professional help.
It always annoyed me when he said “That’s not who we are” because I knew he wasn’t one of us (people who thank God we’re Americans).
There is no “we” any longer. Ted Kennedy made sure of that in 1965.
