They made him a deal he couldn’t refuse.

Probably sent San Fran NaN down as a bagman to convince him that it’s good for all of them to keep the money spigots open.

The Mex Prez was threatened (but related to gang theft of pipeline oil):

Sounds like a good excuse for Trump to declare a “State of Emergency”.

Mexico will be like Venezuela in the near future. We think we have refugee problems now....just wait a while.

“Didn’t the last Mexican president get $100,000,000 from the cartels?”

Yep, and I’m sure the current Mexican President is well compensated too.

Mexico’s “war” against the drug cartels has been a sham for decades. Everyone knows that the cartels rather than the police or military call the shots in Mexico, so why not turn de facto into de jure?

Why would they kill him? He is exactly what they, the Cartels, want. But the killing will not stop, thus el presidente does not get what he is seeking.

Maybe he is getting out of the way of PDJT. Possible bombing runs on drug distributors by the US?

Well, despite their offers, meth-EEK-0 doesn’t really want to have to pay for them. Specially when napa nan offered scads of money for food, clothing and medical(but no steenkin’ wall money). But, just not at her place in Napa though. If they ain’t pickin’ grapes, off the estate. Certainly all of her pickers have been E-verified.

First he ends the crackdown at his southern border, letting the caravans through as long as their stated destination is the U.S.

Now he is ending the prosecution of the Cartels.

Sounds like we now have a National Emergency at the border when the southern partner has shirked all responsibilities for securing their side.

Mexico Prez says “we want peace”

ok but how many more dead innocent people will it cost for you to achieve “peace”?

the war will still be going on daily, whether this guy calls it one or not.

Calling off the war with cartels is tantamount to switching sides.

Mexico just officially became a narco state. The cartels are now running the country.

Mexico lost control of it’s northern states a long time ago. The major cartels control them. I guess they got to this guy.

If there was ever a reason to build a wall, this is it.

We may need more than a wall if the whole county is in control of the Zetas.
