Last week the White House announced the re-nomination of 51 judicial nominees, including a dozen circuit court nominees.
Conspicuously absent from this list were the three judges that President Trump had nominated to the Ninth Circuit from California in October: Patrick Bumatay, Daniel Collins, and Ken Lee.
All three are outstanding, experienced, and have demonstrated a commitment to the rule of law. Bumatay and Lee have longstanding ties to the Federalist Society. Collins is a former law clerk to the late Justice Antonin Scalia.During the first two years of his administration, President Trump gradually filled nearly all of the circuit court vacancies that he inherited, along with additional vacancies that arose those first two years.
But for 21 long months, the three California seats remained vacant as the White House attempted to work with Democratic Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris to identify nominees. And for 21 months, the two California senators dragged their feet

WTH are Jacobsen, and Rush Limbaugh BTW, getting their shorts in a knot over info sourced to that mag and that rag?!
Trust but verify, guys.
Sheesh.
“the White House attempted to work with Democratic Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris to identify nominees.”
Boy, was Rush ever on a rant about this today. I guess the new White House Counsel (Cipollone?) has been “negotiating” with Harris and Feinstein to make a list of nominees for judge. WTF anyhow? Those hags should be nowhere near this process.
Trump better not screw this up
What are you saying-- that Trump didn't nominate these judges in October? That he did renominate them now?
Again, Trump exercises a timid restraint of his powers that no Democrat would ever do.
any judge either of those two idiots will approve of is a judge I want NO WHERE near a bench.
ignore them.
“Trump better not screw this up”
I’m not hopeful. So many bad decisions. Rush alluded to the possibility that Trump may not even know that the W.H. Counsel is working with Harris and Feinstein. [shaking head]
Well, there ARE 6 vacancies on the 9th and Trump DOES have an opportunity to moderate its extreme leftist slant IF HE NOMINATES good constitutional conservatives and DOES NOT give Californias Senators veto power.
It will be possible to confirm a HUGE number IF our Republican Senators can be shamed into working like the future of our Republic depends upon it because it really does, IMHO.
There are MANY, MANY other judicial vacancies that need to gotten to on an URGENT basis. Lindsey Graham needs to spend less time politicking and traveling overseas to interfere with Trumps foreign policy and MORE TIME FOCUSING ON JUDICIAL VACANCIES. Your spending time hobnobbing with Turkeys Islamist leader Erdogan doesnt advance Judicial confirmations, Lindsey!
The President and the Senate need to FILL QUICKLY ALL FEDERAL JUDICIAL VACANCIES. Renominate those who were still pending at the end of the last Congress and vet, recruite, and nominate new candidates for ALL the remaining vacancies. Act like the future of the Nation and the Republic depend upon it...since they may!
We have a large number of ACTUAL federal judicial vacancies. IMHO our HIGHEST PRIORITY needs to be FILLING ALL JUDICIAL VACANCIES EXISTING vacancies.
FOR THIS YEAR Id like to see the Republican Senate and the President work so, by the end of the calendar year, well be able to count the number of remaining judicial vacancies on one hand.
BOTH the Senate and President Trump need to get cracking to QUICKLY fill the MANY VACANCIES on US federal judgeships. There are over 140 vacancies of which around 70 had nominees pending in the last Congress. But there were around 70 for which Trump had not yet submitted nominees.

And there are other judgeships where near-future vacancies are known. These also need nominations in the pipeline.

I hope President Trump (and Lindsey Graham, the new Judiciary Committee Chairman) give this effort the URGENCY it needs.
TIME TO GET MOVING SENATOR GRAHAM!
I’m really starting to doubt Trump.
That’s just the plain truth of it.
My best guess (if true)
Trump is busy. He probably doesn’t get involved in vetting circuit court picks, or and especially worrying about strategy of how to get them confirmed. He’s a business-man. He delegates.
Swamp fever infects nearly everyone in DC. My guess is that anyone doing this for him is probably infected. Makes their spines go soft.
That is exactly how the leftist media wants you to feel.
Don’t fall for it
How many times have we been down this same road?
Rush has a different view on this...he says President Trump is working with the two women Harris and Feinstein....? Harris is a puppet; Feinstein is a total politician...she is an accomplished liar, not that Harris isn’t, it is just that Feinstein is years ahead of her in expertise.
“Im not hopeful. So many bad decisions.”
TBH, I don’t think he’s in control of anything. The corrupt state has him over a barrel. Just look what ‘his’ DOJ is doing to his associates. They’re in the process of bring their coup to fruition.
#NotGood
There are more than just the California Senators. The 9th Circuit covers several states. And at the end of the day, Trump is fully in his rights to make his own appointments and should. Graham and McConnell should move forward and help save us in the 9th Circuit.
Sad if true. I read some people saying 3 and other say 6 seats open on the court. That is incredible opportunity to remake that circuit. What is the delay?! Republicans won and increased their majority in the Senate, time to use it!!!
21 months? How does this register as 0 on the screw-up meter?
I’m talking about the alleged negotiations with Feinstein and Harris.
Jeez louise, would folks just try to keep their powder try until we find out from a reliable source WT* is going on?
