Trump can pardon anyone at any time, including before sentencing.

See Ford's pardon of Nixon who had not been charged with a crime at the time of the pardon.

“See Ford’s pardon of Nixon who had not been charged with a crime”

Something I’ve noticed while listening to the news recently is that they refer to “Nixon’s articles of impeachment”, then they leave that hanging in the air. Nobody EVER clarifies that Nixon wasn’t impeached. Not a huge deal, but it bothers me.

The more you listen to the news, the more things will bother you.

Articles of impeachment were passed by the house in Nixon's case. That's good enough for impeachment as far as the media is concerned. Same thing happened to Clinton.

“It’s the economy stupid.”

Replace the word economy with ‘report’.

Then when Mueller’s report (written by Weissman) comes out you will see this is what the libs were looking for not impeachment. Just look at Weissman’s history of writing these and it will be clear Trump isn’t behind Mueller.

“Same thing happened to Clinton.”

Except that Clinton WAS impeached in the House.

Other way around. Manafort hired Podesta’s company to do some things.

In the case of Nixon, articles of Impeachment were NOT passed by the House and were not brought to the House for a vote. They were passed by the Democrat Judiciary Committee to be sent to the House but Nixon resigned prior to any full House debate, deliberations or vote.

Nixon was not impeached by the US House of Representatives.

Clinton WAS impeached by the US House of Representatives and tried by the Senate for removal. The Senate failed to pass his removal under the Impeachment action. Impeachment is a House action bringing about a trial in the Senate.

The real dirty deed for Manafort’s dirty money was done by Greg Craig - a former Obama White House Council. Manafort paid Skadden Arps over 4 million to give a false “expert opinion” and Craig was the partner who managed this. They said publicly that this expert opinion only cost $16k and in private e-mails he said he thinks the opposite is true. Podesta’s role was to distribute this false expert opinion.

Skadden was fined $4.6 million few weeks ago and Craig was fired and that might not be the end of his troubles.

I wanted to post a Bloomberg article about it, but Bloomberg is not allowed any more. I think it is allowed in the comments so here it is.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-01-17/skadden-law-firm-to-pay-4-6-million-to-u-s-over-ukraine-work

“The government also said the primary Skadden partner on the project made false and misleading statements to the Justice Department’s FARA unit. The partner has been previously identified as Greg Craig, a former White House counsel under President Barack Obama. The development suggests Craig may yet have legal exposure in the matter.”

It will go no where because these people had no involvement with Trump. But, we will see. Their fine will be the extent of it. That’s my opinion.
