Uh, yeah. Their ignorance and dismissiveness on display yet again. Those that weren't impressed by them there "chiseled pecs(srsly?)", don't count. Chiseler's pecs maybe. If these assclowns weren't so dangerous, they'd be laugh worthy.

A failed impeachment drive could encourage the president’s most dangerous impulses ....

Just what "dangerous impulses" has Trump manifested since assuming the Presidency? Cutting taxes? Eliminating costly and unnecessary regulation? Removing the U.S. from pointless foreign wars? Attempting to achieve border control to ensure the sovereignty of the nation? How many times has he openly defied the federal courts who have arbitrarily poured cold water on the due exercise of his constitutional authority? None! This writer is delusional!

No need to worry. Leftists can pretty much bet on it happening.

Impeachment of President Trump will be the most egregious misuse of law in the history of the US. Only slightly less, were the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus during the civil war and the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII.

Did you notice the other two happened while wars were going on?

Impeachment will come with right wing death squads.

Choose wisely, lefties.

Where do you think all that ammunition is that gun stores couldn’t keep on the shelves for the eight years that King Obama was on the throne?

The peasants are fed up, but now their pitchforks have a 500 yard range and run on “high-capacity” magazines.

core supporters of the impeached leader would consider his removal “a gussied-up coup d’etat”

Nothing "gussied-up" about what has been going on ever since it was rumored that Trump might run.

That's a feature, not a bug.

If it suppresses their eagerness to impeach, then yea, I’ll claim to go postal.

Be afraid, liberals, be very afraid.

Any attempt to impeach Trump is an assault on free and fair elections. I would think that would have the potential to ignite a civil war.

“They worry that core supporters of the impeached leader would consider his removal “a gussied-up coup d’etat””

So they would perceive it correctly?

At this point they are probably confident that Trump will lose in 2020 and it would not be to their advantage to have Mike Pence as the incumbent President...but impeachment talk is useful for motivating their base and as a distraction from Trump's agenda.

Nixon resigned when it came out he had tried to interfere with the investigation into the Watergate break-in (which was just an unjustified wiretap--similar to actions done by Presidents before and after him and not nearly as bad as Obama's actions in the 2016 campaign to use the agencies of the federal government against Trump).

The Washington Post played a key role in Nixon's downfall and wants to repeat it with Trump. The difference is that Trump did nothing illegal so they have to make up grand-sounding offenses which are merely such in the eye of the beholder...will the House Democrats really vote for impeachment on such a flimsy basis when 50% of the country knows it's all bogus?

The anti-Trump Republicans in the Senate may be eager to see Trump out of office but they know it would be political suicide for them to vote for conviction if it came to a trial in the Senate.
