Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is lobbying his former colleagues to do more to study unidentified flying objects.
“I personally don’t know if there exists little green men other places, I kind of doubt that, but I do believe that the information we have indicates we should do a lot more study,” the Nevada Democrat said. “We have hundreds and hundreds of people that have seen the same thing — something in the sky, it moves a certain way.”
Reid said that also included sightings of vessels at sea

Dirty Harry has pancreatic cancer with an extremely low cure rate. One would think he’d be more concerned with his salvation than UFOs.
He’s going to get his own planet, so he’s got that going for him.

Back in the 60s or 70s, there was a Project Blue Book which studied UFOs. But wasn’t that top secret?
I recall Jimmy Carter once said the government should release info on UFOs. But he never authorized release of such info as president. Which suggests that there could be good reason for secrecy.
He can fund all the research he can pay for. He doubtless skimmed plenty of graft during his career.
while i actually have a very low regard for Reid,
i do think some GENUINE UFO research may be justifiable...
somewhere out there, we have company I am CONVINCED OF IT..
whether they’ve arrived, whether they’re even discoverable by us today... I have no idea...
but there have been some possibilities, indications.. just how to really honestly research it though? not sure!
just giving away more tax money to some university ... on some ill-defined venture, no way.
can Reid outline just what kind of research project he thinks might really help answer this eternal question now for us?
Somehow I think that a disproportionate amount of UFO research $$ would go to states like Nevada. My guess is that an in state associate would stand to benefit.

Mormons are good people but their ideology is a bit off. I would have zero problems with voting for a Mormon that is a believer in our sacred constitution.
