I don’t think it is the owners, I think it is the league itself. As for baseball there are plenty of opportunities to call a ball a strike or a strike a ball. I also remember watching a Brewer game where a challenge was called on a homerun. The ball clearly struck above the yellow line on the outfield wall and it was overturned.

the only way you could possibly make the nfl playoffs worse — get lawyers involved.

The rule you quoted gives the league commissioner the power to produce the result they want. But, what tort has been committed that gives the judge reason to compel the league commissioner to act in the desired way?

Their most certainly is an economic loss. To the players AND the team.

Sure... to the Saints players and the Saints team. But not to the fans who have initiated the suit.

Little known item: the NFL has legally defined itself as a “sports entertainment” operation, not “competitive sports” as all the other major sports do. In fact, the only other organizations that consider themselves “sports entertainment” are the WWE and professional roller derby.

At the end of the day, they can just say “we never said it was a pure sports competition and we never said that the outcome would be fair.” Read into that what you will.

A hearing is tentatively set for Monday -- six days before the Rams meet the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl in Atlanta.

Time is a factor.

The only way the judge can change the composition of the Super Bowl is to issue an injunction delaying the Super Bowl while the Saints-Rams issues is decided. Not gonna happen.

Yep. Refs are on the take, just like POTUSES (not Donald J. Trump, however), SCOTUSES, Representatives, Senators.

I mean it. The non-call was so turbo-bad that it could only be made by a ref on the take.

Not being sarcastic here.

I guess they’ll apologize for targeting players while they’re at it. It’s Rams vs Patriots rematch. Aints losers need to get over it.

Wasn’t a championship but the Green Bay interception in the end zone of a Seattle pass being ruled a Seattle TD was pretty sad too.

I am convinced that the in certain games referees are told to try and let certain teams win, or make the game as exciting as possible.

If that were the case in this game, why would the Saints gwt ZERO penalties in the first half when the ran up the score 13-0 while the Rams had four? It would make more sense for small calls made and not made along the way to keep it close. While we are talking about flagrant non-calls, let’s not forget the facemask against Goff.

. It’s all about the TV ratings.

Then how did Buffalo get in four years in a row? It’s no secret that the NFL was annoyed, but didn’t stop it.

Should sue the Taints’ scumbag head coach since all his karma came tumbling down on top of him last Sunday.

They won’t win, but it’s still keeping the topic in the news. As if the NFL needs any more bad PR.

These people (or is that idiot's) will learn just what a 12(b)6 (if I recall correctly) Motion is.

What is a 12(b)6 Motion in a court of law, both State Court(s) & Federal Court(s):

Answer: Failure to state a claim, upon which relief can be granted!

Case Dismissed!

People need to grow up. Football is a game, not a science. Mistakes will be made. Get over it.

I am from the New Orleans area. This is a local attorney who advertises heavily in the New Orleans market. I’m thinking this is to get some free advertising and jumping on the fan outrage bandwagon. I’m not a lawyer, but I don’t see this going anywhere.
