I was a grunt in the Marine Corps. Funny thing is, from time to time we would have guys from the H&S (S shop, Admin, Motor T, Warehouse) come out with us for a week of field maneuvers. They usually didn't want to do it twice... :-)

My only experience with a Stolen Valor guy was at my American Legion bar of all places. Myself and a bunch of Marine buddies were drinking and sharing stories (we're like fisherman with the stories!!), among the guys were a WWII and Vietnam veterans. This one guy starts talking with us and tells us he was a Marine and a Vietnam veteran. So we naturally tried to recruit him into our Marine Corps League. We tell him all you need to do is bring in your DD-214. He says he doesn't have one as he was in some super secret program where they did not get a Military discharge. He was in the Legion as a social member. We looked at each other, turned around and got back to our discussion and ignored him.
