Declare an emergency send the regular Army to the border like Ike did in 1958 for integration enforcement. It ain’t hard.

Tell that to Trump. He can do it without the Senate or House. Why hasn't he increased the troops there now to 10,000 and armed I cannot understand.

80% of those apprehended, now are family groups with minors, or unaccompanied minors, who ask for asylum.

It is a get out of jail free card - an open door to walk right in.

People can still walk or hitchhike, like the camera hog caravans. Mostly however, they buy a ticket for $5,000 per person (often on credit from gangsters), that takes them straight to a crossing point on the border, fully trained how to beat the system in the USA. What’s included? Comfortable tour bus transportation, all meals, two star accommodations each night, and no hassles from authorities or criminals.

The cartels who run or coordinate with these human trafficking operations, use them to flood/pin down all the Border Patrol in a certain area, so the coast is clear for their drug runs.

Also soldiers can be given training, specific rules to follow and issue hand cuffs and other non lethal equipment. This is easy stuff here.

Ike also sent troops during operation ‘wetback’.

“And no one wants to fix it. “

It makes me sick, too. We’re being invaded and colonized with the help of our fed govt. Their primary reason for being is national security—To protect the states from invasion. They REFUSE to do that basic and constitutionally mandated task.

It’s bad...really bad.

"When I say tracked I meant tracked until caught."

That would be good.

I read all sorts of statistics on the number of crossings over time. Those numbers don't seem to be consistent with the number of apprehensions.

I wonder how anyone can know the number of illegal crossings beyond those actually apprehended without having a comprehensive process of just observing crossings without any action to stop it.

When groups like this are seen on camera agents are notified and will respond…
The groups are tracked and are normally found.
When I say tracked I meant tracked until caught.

It sounds like you may know what you are talking about and your words are encouraging.

It would be good if we had a basis for determining this was more than just, "Don't worry, there is nothing to see here, just move along."

Can you give us an idea of your background, without causing a headache for yourself?

Give the federal government something they care about to enforce: charge a tax for entering the country.

It’s why most every imported beer is a legal immigrant.

I wonder how far that unloaded bus would have jumped in the air if a scud hit it?

I am an agent and I ask the same things at times. One benefit of catching people is that they are fingerprinted so that we can determine who is a felon.

Some agents like to let people cross so that they can catch them. Others prefer to try and deter people from crossing in the first place. I prefer to deter since the minute they get into the united states they cost tax payers money and can claim asylum. Those that prefer to catch them will say if you deter they will just cross at a different time or place. We need a better barrier but even more than that we need tougher laws so that there is no benefit to cross.

Enough is enough. . .any American citizen enabling these people should be considered as aiding and abetting the enemy.

Yessiree, those cameras, high tech drones and motion sensors sure did stop ‘em.
We better buy more of those playthings so the congressional lobbying firms that make them will have even bigger bottom lines

...at the expense of the safety of we the people

And nbc employees, working without ethics, are showing their leftist bias in this article.

What happens after apprehension? When do they get to request ‘asylum’?

To be honest there is not a fool proof way of knowing how many people crossed that were not seen. One way that they count people that were not seen is by sign cutting. It is not fool proof but it can be fairly accurate. When an unknown group is cut it is worked and many times caught. The problem is that not all groups leave sign that is found.

To be honest you can’t trust any numbers put out by the Patrol, counting groups seen and caught and those not caught is very political. Bottom line is that it looks bad for the upper management if we have a lot of groups not caught, so sometimes assets are moved so that not as many groups are not seen. In other words if groups were not known then they do not exist.

Didn’t we send the military down there to stop this invasion?

A few improvements I would support are :

... to restrict remittances only from citizens and those who can show legal residency ;

... treat all assets gained within the United States while an illegal alien the way we do assets garnered from other crimes and subject to forfeiture (though we really do need to eliminate all civil forfeiture where there is not already a conviction for the specific related crime, just as we need to eliminate civil liability in any instance where the underlying complaint is a crime unless there is alteady an actual conviction for that crime) ;

... treat being an illegal alien as a crime that someone was already in commission of when they commit another crime, so that they will be charged with the more serious forms of the crimes they are accused of committing and receive harsher punishments.

And, humorously, since those MS-13 types love their tats we should give each one deported a free, high quality tat of a penis across their face. Just to show our appreciation of their existence.

Well, that there is the whole DNC and too many in the RNC who at a minimum seem bound and determined to believe Democrats yet again when they make promises like restart the government and then we’ll talk.
