Not affiliated with this blog but he does a nice breakdown of the oxfam scam. Less than 50% of its money goes to charity.

The gap between the wealthy and the poor will only widen as the communists and socialists destroy the middle class.

Oxfam, which has for years been trying to bring attention to the issue ahead of the World Economic Forum, said in a report that billionaire fortunes increased by 12 percent last year — the equivalent of $2.5 billion a day — while the 3.8 billion people who make up the world’s poorest half saw their wealth decline by 11 percent.

The poor are not getting poorer because the rich are getting richer.

The poor are getting poorer because they live in slave states like Venezuela.

If you want to raise the wealth of the poor give them economic freedom.

You know, as a Capitalist, I would like to be rich some day. I don't know that it will ever happen, but I detest people who complain about others wealth or belongings.

These folks talk about the unfairness, as if God would look down and hate people because they have money while others don't.

They profess to know exactly what God thinks. How about this then?

Exodus 20:17

You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.

Fix your own life Lefties, and leave your fellow man alone.

Rich people employ others directly and indirectly. If you kill their wealth, you kill the benefit of that wealth.

If the government liquidates wealth, it spends it once. Then it's gone.

If the wealthy continue to be, they build more wealth and their money increases the benefits to others.

Trump is worth billions. At the same time, he directly employed over 25,000 people. He also indirectly employed many others buy purchasing goods, services, and other things.

What would have happened if the government stepped in and took away his wealth?

He would not have been able to employ more people. The government would have destroyed people's lives, far removed from Trump, by taking his wealth.

People need to get off this "them vs us kick". It's very destructive.

The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles.

Freeman and slave, patrician and plebeian, lord and serf, guild-master and journeyman—in a word, oppressor and oppressed—stood in constant opposition to one another, carried on an uninterrupted now-hidden now-open fight; a fight that each time ended either in a revolutionary reconstitution of society at large or in the common ruin of the contending classes. …
Those are the opening words of the first chapter of the Communist Manifesto. Them versus us is the sentiment. So long as this false premise continues to be believed as if it were gospel, the them-versus-us cycle will continue uninterrupted and unabated. (The only thing that Marx got right is the “common ruin” bit, but not for the cause he postulates.)

We are all ‘rich’ in this nation and have way far ‘more’ than we need. So getting richer is just more of more.

But I agree with Capitalism and never slight those who can build and donate and make life better for the rest of us. most would not have jobs without the wealthy... lots of medical breakthroughs wouldn’t happen, hospitals built and vehicles for all our emergency workers etc.etc. are often not possible without the wealthy investors.

And I do not believe their wealthy should have to be redistributed among those who haven’t earned it....ever!

The gap between the wealthy and the poor is fun to watch now that Trump tax cuts took away big city liberal’s deductions for state and local taxes.

Now if they want to vote for high spending liberals they can’t force everyone else to foot the bill. Enjoy your property tax bill...dumb@$$.

Economically, there is nothing going on in the USA, or Switzerland, or Hong Kong, that cannot replicated in every country in the world.

Higher taxes mainly affect the upper middle class, the people who are trying to become rich.

The real purpose of higher taxes is to PREVENT people from the upper middle class from ascending into the upper class, and thus providing competition for the increasingly-entrenched upper class.

It has always been about taking money from those who produce and giving it to those who lob around and take.

Truth: You have to give producers an incentive to produce, or no one will have anything!

Why, I must ask, do I always wind up among “the rich” by just the thinnest of margins?

Just asking.

Ignorant people who wring their hands over a "wealth gap" simply don't understand how wealth is CREATED. Wealth is not a zero sum game - where someone who acquires wealth only does so from someone else losing their wealth.

Other than such sins as gambling, or taxes, most wealth is acquired by someone producing wealth from labor, where the cost of the labor is LESS THAN value of the wealth that is created. Those who become wealthy by CREATING wealth not only become wealthy themselves, the workers who provide the labor are also compensated and thus have an opportunity for themselves to increase their own wealth, by saving and investment. "Wealth gaps" are a healthy indicator of a growing economy, and should not be disparaged.

Truly wealthy people, such as Bezos and Gates, don't have warehouses full of gold, where they spend all of their spare time gazing at its gleaming glory. Their wealth is invested in the companies they created, providing millions of workers their own opportunities to save and invest, if wisely managed.

I first encountered Oxfam as a schoolboy, observing their real estate speculation in North Oxford. Understood then my mother's advice, "If you want to know where your charity goes, give it to a beggar"

Met them next in Africa, as the Oxford Committee for Famine Creation. Let me explain.

There is a bad harvest. Food is scarce. In comes Oxfam to dump free food on the population. Many already stressed farmers go out of business; they and their children move to the city and become scroungers and vagrants.

A couple of years later, there is another bad harvest, and an even worse situation thanks to the farmers who are no longer there.

After independence, the game changes. The local politicians demand bribes, hidden in the accounts as "public relations". They then take the food, distribute it to the villages loyal to their tribe, and let the others starve. Oxfam looks on and does nothing, not wanting to be racist neo colonialist bad guys.

And the people get poorer. Welcome to the Law of Unintended Consequences.
