I was shocked when I saw it just sitting there for the taking. LOL!
Hope you get some gorgeous pictures. if I was smart, I’d go out with the telescope, but the thing weighs a ton. It needs wheels. LOL!
My screen does seem to make a habit of getting fuzzy reading about our heroes.
Cool tune.
It’s about 1/2 done now. Just had to go peek. :)
It is high in the eastern sky, almost overhead.
It is progressing slowly.
I should be in bed but may watch this wolfblood moon.
Scotty told me this story about coming to the surface in a non disclosed place, and the skipper ordered all the men topside, he said the moon was Huge and lit the entire sea.
Odd thing for a submarine to do, they were safe and unconcerned about being detected.
He said it was magical, I get it.
I hope the clouds stay away now and allow pix to be taken.
It’s a good thing I had to put fresh batteries in the camera recently and have only snapped a couple of shots since. Cold d rains batteries quickly and it’s cold out there tonight. At least the wind isn’t blowing as hard as it was this afternoon but it’s enough to add a bite. brrrrrr
Is your telescope one with a computerized motor to move it to specific things you want to see or to track what you’re looking at? We have one of those and I’ve rarely used it because it’s too heavy to move. Dad sent another smaller one that I can carry but I’m not going to bother with it tonight. I don’t plan to stand out there that long. LOL
I swear I had to take a break!
Exhausting film.
My what a bright and effulgent Moon...

The moon is almost half black right now, up here.
No sign of any red so far.
Wind chills up here are -25, so I am not
for standing out there for very long!
yup, halfway intp the transition.
should be at its apex at 10:30
Howdy, Kathy.
I think your winter ran away and came down here. LOL! It’s been a frigid day and tonight is going to be brutal.
I’m SO ready for Spring already!
You wont see colors till the blackout.
It’s a fleeting thing.
Seemed aprapos

It won’t turn red until totality. Up til then, it just looks like the different phases as it wanes.
So far our luck is holding up and the sky’s staying clear. That could change at any moment though. There are still some clouds zipping across the sky.
The clouds are scudding by, but I can see the moon for the most part!
So when is totality?
I used to work for this great guy, he did more sub spec ops than any man on the planet.
He says to me recently, were you ever scared?
I said I almost **** my pants
He said me too, comical old gentleman.
The full eclipse should begin in about 20 minutes - 11:41 Eastern. Maximum is at 12:12 Eastern and the full eclipse ends at 12:43 Eastern. It’s all over at 2:48 Eastern.
It’ll go on for a little while yet. :-)
Gonna go see if I can capture a pic.
3 yard to build so yes!
It has some kind of computer, but I just don’t know much about that. I just look through the eyepiece. But it’s very heavy and big. I wish I had a good place to keep it set up, but trees block ALL of our windows.
