Otherwise, as soon as Trump would be removed (Senate vote required), Pence would become POTUS. Pence could immediately name a new VP. Unless he named Pelosi, she would still be 2 steps away from the presidency.

But since dems don’t believe the election of 2016 was legitimate, many(all) would refuse to ratify Pence’s choice for VP—it requires votes in both houses.
