A TV news reporter was viciously attacked during a live broadcast Saturday night as she was reporting on a mass drug overdose in Northern California.
Meaghan Mackey of KRCR-TV in Redding was interrupted during her news report and physically assaulted during by a woman who apparently objected to her coverage of events in Chico, California.
One person died and 14 others had to be hospitalized in connection with the overdose incident, and Mackey was reporting from the scene.
As Mackey was live-streaming her report on Facebook Live, an unidentified woman who was off-camera approached the reporter and began hurling obscenities, saying:

During the whole Jerry Sandusky thing at Penn State a Pittsburgh TV newswoman was reporting from in front of his house. Sandusky’s wife was coming back from the supermarket and tried to run her over.
It’s a doper neighborhood. If you want to cover this type of area and news...you need to hire up two ‘thugs’ to hang out with the news crew.

The state I live in has a entire state population of only 5x the size of the city of Chico, CA. Yes, we have crazies. But they’re in-laws and no cops are involved.
I wonder if she’s going to become less in awe of the homeless drug users in her personal life or if she’s blithely continuing in the Progressive direction.

No excuses for the insane. But,.... I had to ask myself what exactly set this insane behavior off?
Was it the pride and thrill displayed by blondie, the ReporterEtte, to have her mug on a public platform and being ever so “LIVE ON FACEBOOK”, and too dumb to communicate anything but an address and repeat, “um, you guys”?
Blondie was completely detached, absorbed pretty much in her own self-celebrity, from the death and disaster that had occurred in that house.
So I’m thinking was the insane lady who accosted her, a mother of one of these victims, or just one more neighborhood junkie that was angered because her source of her own drugs may have died in that house, or whatever.
There may or may not be more to this story, but taken alone, the detachment of Barbie was unprofessional and her public demeanor did not match the occasion. If the audio was turned off, you might think she was covering a Sears closing.
That may be why the insane lady was initially set off?
