Early Saturday morning, nearly 200 people stood in the freezing cold outside a Maryland supermarket waiting to collect a small allotment of free food.

They were federal employees, there to pick up fresh produce and canned goods from the Capital Area Food Bank, which organized five pop-up food distribution centers for government workers.

How bad do you manage your life if 48 hours after missing one check you need to wait in line for hours to get food?

I've been debating this same point with people. Most federal workers have been on the job a number of years, and are making a decent salary. If you've been responsible in managing your finances, and living within your means, there's no way you should be standing in a food line 48 hours after missing that first paycheck.

President Obama in 2013:

"...one faction, of one party, in one House of Congress, in one branch of government, doesn't get to shut down the entire government, just to refight the results of an election."

And the media mocked people who call themselves “preppers.”

We never ran out of beer though and allowed ourselves each a 12 pack a day.

Yikes. PBR or Schlitz?

I was one of them. I lived in the Detroit area and was a victim of the auto industry and the Michigan Depression. My job was furloughed permanently. I provided the sole income for my family. It took six months and having to move 600 miles to get a new job.

At that point, we had two households since I was in an apartment for several months till we could sell the house and move the family.

We never went to a food bank, we never were late on a mortgage payment. We hunkered down, cancelled all the cell phones but mine and our frugal lifestyle went downright cheap.

At one point, I called the mortgage company and asked if they had any programs to help people like me who hadn’t missed any payments. They told me to skip 2-3 payments and call back.

Maybe if they cannot afford to live where they work they should MOVE. I know this might be tough on those who cannot do prodductive work but it is a big world out there. Of course some of these government nazis who love to tell others how to live or work may be in for a shock when their boss tells them “I don’t care what you think” or “get off the internet and take a work break”. Don’t like it there is the door.

If we have people that can not feed themselves for a couple of days running the country we are in need of new employees.

This is totally fake propaganda. They missed their first check on Thursday and they are at the food bank Saturday? Don’t believe it for a moment and we should all be insulted that they think we will believe them.

Just because they’re lining up for free food doesn’t necessarily mean they all need it.

The border is open, there’s a partial government shutdown & the Democrats take a junket to Puerto Rico. Here’s Menendez terrorizing beach-goers on the beach by going shirtless. https://t.co/QKJpHKnGLU— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) January 13, 2019

Two days without a paycheck and they’re lining up at a food bank. I guess they have to make that monthly payment on the Lexus, boohoohoo.

Zero sympathy for these taxpayer-funded leeches. ZERO.

Food can be bought with credit cards—does this mean these folks maxed out all their credit cards?
