Does anyone here believe her cancer is early-stage? Anyone? Beuller?
It's as "early" as she is young.
“Does anyone here believe her cancer is early-stage?”
The doctor at Liz’s link makes some deductions:
- If the two tumors removed from her lungs were lung cancer, her prognosis would be good - so they would probably have said so.
- It is unlikely for a lung cancer to have originated in two separate tumors.
So her cancer is likely the stage IV spread of another cancer - likely the deadly pancreatic variety.
Pancreatic cancer, which she has been diagnosed with before, is one of the more lethal varieties - 5% survival rate after five years (20% if caught early, as they say her’s was). She was operated on for pancreatic cancer 10 years ago.
Not at her age, or with her prior history of smoking for many years. No. Don’t believe it. Adhesions at a minimum on the lung wall, probably inoperable. Next step ameliorative care, ie. pain management.
They better not be having the clerks write her opinions— this is a major issue.
