Multiple sources tonight tell me Ruth Bader Ginsburg is not even in DC, but in New York and preparing to step down from the Supreme Court.
HIPAA prevents anyone from knowing the real medical condition of a person. The Court has no way of knowing if what they report is true.
You may be right.
However, the Dems in the same situation would push on and we will, too.

He’s smart, and generally low-key. He’s been a good, personable guy when I have met him, and has a good reputation. He was appointed to the 5th Circuit by Trump and confirmed with 53 votes—only a few more than Don Willett, who was confirmed to the 5th Circuit the day before.
He’s generally very conservative, but one sticking point is he stridently believes the 14th Amendment guarantees birthright citizenship, including for the children of illegal immigrants. I don’t think that makes much difference, though—I would be shocked if the Supreme Court ever held otherwise, regardless of who holds Thomas’s seat.
He already has a woman sitting on the sidelines just for this situation. The woman has stellar credentials. Many on here were howling, why didn’t Trump tap her and then we would not have had the circus that occurred with Kavanagh. Sorry, forgot her name. I am sure others here will quickly be able to provide it.

My guess is that the Dems are hoping and praying that she can at least make it another year to get within a year of the Presidential election and throw that in the face of McConnel and the Republicans (ala Merrit Garland). At 85 with serious health issues, that may be a bridge too far.
Has there ever been a President who got to nominate three Supreme Court Justices in his first term? That seems pretty amazing to me, a third of the court.
