Was at a red light next to a car with New York tags and I rolled down the window and said to the driver, “Welcome to Texas, just don’t vote democrat”.
Every time we decide on a state for our future bugout, OH was the last one, it goes and does something terminally dumb. Sigh. Clock is ticking for us now. And our shortlist is getting shorter.
FWIW, all of the folks we know who have left NYS, not a one has been a lib. All of the people we know, any state getting them will be lucky to have them.
New York City and the surrounding areas are actually gaining people - nobody cares how high taxes are if you can make a huge income.
The people who are leaving are from upstate, where they have the same taxes but no incomes.
downside.. there is a Nor’easter headed to red states..
as they flee the mess they made, they pack up their voting habits and take them with.
We need a state based on principles of liberty and zero government assistance to individuals.

What’s worse is that many of the people leaving are retirees who at age 50-55 are taking their NY Taxpayer funded state pensions with them to Florida to spend in Florida. Talk about wealth transfer.

Same problem is occurring with Illinois. Way more is flooding out than is trickling in.
One more left turn and Cuomo will be going right...everyone knows that 3 left turns is effectively a right turn....
You would be welcome in Missouri. We just kicked McCaskill to the curb, the state’s budget is balanced, our taxes are low. Come on in, the water’s fine.
True. But then those same people fleeing come to our states and still vote Democrat... that's the downside.
Aging baby boomers, not hitting retirement age en masse, are escaping from the left wing nightmare that their votes secured and heading to places that they can corrupt anew with more left wing votes, like Florida.
I see a pattern here. Heavy government regulation communist States losing middle-class citizens at an alarming rate. Communist Global agenda Moving exactly according to plan.
