As President Trump prepares to pull U.S. forces out of Syria, voters' beliefs that American political leaders put U.S. troops in danger too much is at its lowest level in more than five years.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 43% of likely U.S. voters say political leaders send American soldiers into harms way too often, while seven percent (7%) feel U.S. troops are sent into harms way not often enough. Thirty-seven percent (37%) believe the balance is about right. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure.
And of course, those who tend to lean against defense are largely Democrats.
Actually it’s leftists, like yourself, who have become more intervention-favorable.
One is too damned many to save the entirety of Asia, African, and the Middle East.
One drop of American blood or one taxpayer cent is worth more than the rest of the bloodsucking leeches represented by the UN (exception Israel as they generally have our back)
Lets take a poll to see how many Americans think we should be the world’s policeman.
It President Trump had called for troop increases a push poll would had been done showing the increased concern for the opposite.
Only SEVEN percent think troops are NOT deployed enough.
Most misleading title ever!!!
Yes. Trying to run a war on drugs in Afghanistan, while not hurting the small family farmer farming opium poppies is pro US defense and those of us who think this is a fool’s errand are anti-American stooges.
Because of course American defense means whatever those who want to squander blood and treasure overseas state it to mean.
anybody have the break-outs, Republicans, Democrats and others?
I spent some time in one of Europe's third world countries in the early 1980s. A Mercedes in the left land and Porsche in the right lane chose to observe a stop sign. The Audi following behind thought stops signs were nonsense, tried to split the difference and wrecked all three cars.
Our military needs to be there to show these people how to behave. [do I really really need to post the /s/ tag here? Do I?]
Dont know about the breakdowns, but the most hawkish people I know are retirees. Democrats, now that they seem to be cultivating veterans as another voting bloc, seem pretty eager to be War-deployment busy-bodies abroad while turning a blind eye to corruption and abuse at the hands of illegals at home.
How many of them even knew we have troops in all kinds of hot spots on the globe?
I have a question.
Why are overseas deployments of US troops always open ended, no withdrawal date and with constantly escalating mission requirement but US troops deployed ( not very often) to our own southern border are always small in number, defined limited mission, and have fixed withdrawal dates?
WHY?
Bingo.
Because that’s where the money is.
Because the invaders of our southern border are all future democrat voters. If they were voting Republican, the dims would have M-60’s set up every 50 yards along the whole border.
The blood of American soldiers should only be shed after very much thought about the threat to our nation. Only if the threat is real should our blood be shed.
If our blood must be shed the soldier carrying the rifle must not be hampered by insane rules of engagement that hamper them and cause the loss of American blood.
If we must war, “Cry Havoc and let slip the dogs of war.” If one can not do this, do not go war! There is no gentlemanly way to kill your enemy. It is a very ugly business that must be conducted with extreme violence. If you can not do this, you will lose the war.
WWII was conducted with extreme violence and was total war. We bombed their factories, we fire bombed their cities, the Brits busted their dams and drowned them like rats, we dropped nukes on them in Japan. Oddly the fire bombings killed more than our two nukes we dropped. We had many more nukes in the production pipeline. We won.
Oddly civilian losses were as great if not greater than military losses of life. The civilians were part of the war effort as they built the planes and bombs and grew the food for the enemy. Thus they were and are legitimate targets in war. Civilians are the backbone of a war, even though they do not fight. The children were sad victims and a function of the enemy and not us. They started the war, we did not.
The best war is the one that does not happen because your enemy fears you.

Putting even one American service member in any form of combat, without a plan in place for total annihilation of the enemy, is one too many.
Sad to see so many neocons still permeate this site.
